Anyone else obsessed with pumpkin EVERYTHING?

So disappointed that Publix isn't making their Pumpkin Cheesecake this year (this was confirmed on their publix facebook page).

But seriously - pumpkin is the BEST :D

I'm kinda give or take on Pumpkin.
I used to make these great pumpkin spice cookies...then I substituted sweet potato for the pumpkin and everybody loved them and I haven't made them with pumpkin since.

Yes, it's probably the only way I could be considered "basic".

What's publix?

As an employee of Starbucks, I've been over pumpkin for about two years now. I do not like pumpkin flavored coffee. Fall and winter are my least favorite times of year to work. And I want to eat a pumpkin scone stat, or the cream cheese muffin. It's the icing, man! That's what makes it so good! *shot*

I'm not 100% sure but it's an amazing store. The one I've been to has a dessert deli thing.

I'm not a huge fan of the taste of pumpkin but I love the smell. Sometimes I have to get a pumpkin spice something because the smell makes me really want it.

I HATE Starbucks pumpkin spice though which is too bad since there's a Starbucks everywhere and it smells good.

The only pumpkin spice drinks I can find are all skim milk so I've yet to try it.

I love savory pumpkin flavored things,
For example, I made a really delicious pumpkin mac and cheese. (It's vegan, so no actual cheese in it at all!) And it's delicious. Easily my favorite pumpkin food.

Many people tell me it sounds gross because they can't imagine a pumpkin tasting good savory, they are only used to sweet pumpkin things.

They are definitely missing out! Pumpkin is amazing savory!

Ah, I think the pumpkin syrup smells worse than it tastes. Something about it is headache inducing somehow and a lot of the baristas I've talked to say the same thing...
It's only the pastries that are good.

Something like a pumpkin soup or pasta dish sounds good though.

Pumpkin tastes much like a cross between acorn squash and a sweet potato.
It is often enjoyed as a savory vegetable.
Its when the cinnamon and allspice and brown sugar that it becomes pumpkin spice flavored desserts and sweets.
Plain pumpkin smells like squash.
I used to make pies made from home grown or store-bought pumpkins that I peeled, cut up and boiled, then mashed.

I mean, pumpkin is a kind of squash. It's a vegetable and I do see places selling savory dishes with it in season. Sweet Tomato has a pumpkin soup.

When I lived in Texas, my local grocery store sold pre-cut pieces of squash. My favorite was fairytale squash - I could eat it roasted with olive oil, salt, and pepper for weeks on end!

I LOVE pumpkin spice flavored coffee! The lattes always taste gross to me, although I have a bottled one in the fridge waiting for Saturday. I like to give it a try once a year, just to see if my tastes have changed!

I think sweet pumpkin Mac and cheese would taste too much like pumpkin pie mix on noodles, which would be pretty icky to me :s

To me, Mac and cheese is supposed to be savory. :D Not sweet! Yucky! :p

Well to counteract it you would just have to pick a cheese that isn't sweet.

Edit - After saying that I realized vegan = no cheese

As far as flavors go, I'm not overly fond of fall flavors as far sweets. I do love pumpkin and candy corn decor though.

I'm not part of the fall hype. I'm all 'bout winter. *u* If pumpkin spice is good, I'll take advantage of the season because why not.
