Do you have a hard time doing that?

I DO. For fear of being a burden.

I am terrible at it...
Today I was in the store with my mom and we bought 5 gallons of refilled water and I forgot to pay for it, so I went back to the cashier and she rang it up as $1.45 and I didn't have it, so I was scrambling through my bag trying to find $1.45 and a lady behind me asked the cashier, "How much are they short?" And the cashier said, "$1.45." And the lady gave the cashier $20 and said, "Take out how much they owe out of that."

I was SHOCKED! I didn't want to take it, but she said, "Please pay it forward, do something kind for someone else." I was so happy, I am definitely going to pay the kindness forward.

I do that all the time sweet pea. I've been in those shoes before and I have always decided when I see somebody struggling feeling embarrassed because they're short changed to help out. And all I ever say it's the same just pay it forward someday when you can.

I’m on mobile and I’m trying to figure out how to delete my posts in this thread ... I really didn’t mean to annoy anyone. I’m so sorry.

I've learned that pet owners are like kid owners: once they start talking about them, there's no stopping. In many unfortunate cases, those with no interest in such ownership start to feel like those people have literally nothing else to talk about, so they grow annoyed and become distant.

Ava, the car in front of us paid for our food at Arby's once upon a time.

I know you to be terrible at accepting help, Hummy. You have to remember you're worthy of nice things, too. *hugs*

The family has no problem asking whomever for money all the time. But they've been out in the world. They know they gon' be lost if they don't get that money, so they feel no shame. They're just trying to survive. Oh, I reminded myself how pessimistic I am about entering the world! *grins like a vintage ad*

Yes ... I don’t really talk about my pets for fear of annoying people.

I have a hard time accepting money that is offered without asking for it!
I would rather ask for food than ask for money.

I will absolutely not do it, no matter how badly I need it. Right now, I'm not in a good financial position...but I won't take something for nothing. I get that people "don't mind" and I, personally, would help people with zero issue if I had the money. I just never really learned to accept help from people. I think it's something you learn when you're young and if you don't....it makes it very difficult as an adult.
