Pizza Hut gives out packets of those little hot flakes? Huh, never had that happen at either of the ones in my town. Maybe it's an individual store thing?
Hello everyone.
Sorry I haven't been around a lot.
I had to have surgery again & then ended up in the emergency room with a high fever after surgery.
Also been working a lot again.

Hello thread.
wifey has been working a lot again and finally got a new person to train at work
so she is going in on her days off to help the new girl learn the job so she will be able to have time off when she needs it
Her illness is an ongoing thing and stuff she will deal with the rest of her life.
She doesn't get paid to go in and help her new girl, it will just help the new girl get to know the job sooner so she can have time off.
I have sort of planned a small trip for our anniversary, so we hope the new girl will be able to cover her job in less than 3 weeks.
Ooh I see. One can only hope but it sounds awfully illegal to be working without getting paid for it... after all she is training one of their employees...
Ongoing illness? Aww :( those are never fun. (I'd ask but don't wanna pry)
Hello Poet.
I've been dealing with the illness for over a year now & this is the third outpatient surgery for it.
I have what they call Esophageal Varices, which means that the veins in my esophagus will swell up & sometimes bleed.
So every few months I go to a specialist for him to check to see if they need to be banded, when they do have to band them it is an outpatient procedure where they use the endoscope & a manipulator to attach rubber band like material around where the bleeding or swelling is.
Usually I hurt a lot after the procedure & end up having to take several days off of work to recovery, this time was a bit worse because I developed a fever the day after the procedure & had to go to the emergency room for test to make sure nothing had gone wrong & that I didn't have an infection.
After all the test came back negative they just put me on an antibiotic to be on the safe side & something to reduce the fever.
It was very frightening last year, I had gotten to the point where I was having trouble eating & was gaining weight, but both my protein & iron levels were low.
This bit is sort of gross.
SPOILERX
I just thought I was really stressed out with Miscreant's mom dying. A few day after we got back home I started vomiting blood. I went to the doctor who ran some test, but they couldn't diagnose what was from. With the symptoms I had it was confusing to everyone. At one point they thought I was having migraines because of the way my head hurt. I told the doctor it sounded like helicopter blades in my head & the base of my skull hurt. The doctor gave me medicine for a migraine & it took 3 days for one pill to get out of my system. I told my boss I didn't feel safe to work, especially having to drive half of the day. A few days later I ended up in the emergency room because the family doctor wanted the hospital to do more through test on me. Then I spent a week in the hospital. It took a while for them to figure out what was wrong & then I had to wait for specialist to come up with treatments.
While in the hospital I had a cat scan, an MRI, an endoscope & a colonoscopy.
Also felt like a pin cushion from the amount of blood they were taking from me.
Where I work at we usually try to help out the new people so they can learn the job so we are more likely to be able to get days off. We aren't forced to come in to help, we just do it because we all remember what it was like when we started the job.
Oh wow... that must be really hard to deal with
Worst I've ever had to deal with was an ingrown toenail for a few years.
Ah that last test... eck... worst part of the whole thing is that liquid you have to drink. I dispense it from time to time at work and those things are huge.
