So. I managed to pick up an very inexpensive basic bento the other day, and figured this would be great to take to cons and what not. But I have no idea what to make for one. Right now, I'm looking at recipes for tamagoyaki and spam musubi, and I'm considering looking into simple main dishes that can be reheated in a hotel microwave(yay, I can heat my bento box! because silicone)as well. Also, a couple other little side dishes -- I saw a recipe for asparagus wrapped in bacon that looks good(although I don't think I've ever had asparagus in my life, lol ).

That being said -- does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas?

Spam Musubi is the best thing EVER

Bacon wrapped asparagus is pretty tasty. I'd say find sides that taste okay being reheated in a Microwave...not everything tastes the same after being reheated in a microwave. Spaghetti is always better the second day, or lasagna Now I want lasagna.

Queen, don't forget foods that taste good cold too :D

Casseroles are always better when they are allowed to sit.

Same with pizza...unless you're my mom. She hates cold pizza XD

My mom's the same way .

I prefer it warmed but if I'm in a rush I'll eat it right out of the fridge. And I love my pizza dipped in ranch dressing.

I haven't made bento boxes in ages. I did recently find some really cute molds for the boiled eggs. I don't think I have had asparagus either.

I haven't done bento at all.

I want to learn how to make those super cute bento boxes someday? Like making a rice pikachu and stuff.

I've never made a bento. Ever. Despite the fact that I even have a manga cookbook that I got in high school (and have used pffft).
