Hey

The hunger games movie is coming out soon and I was wondering who was excited for it and who has actually read the book. Iv'e read all three books but was bored by halfway through the second one. I was very disappointed by the ending of the third book (Im not going to say what happened for those who havn't read it). I myself am looking foward the movie but I think they chose the wrong actor for Katniss I think it should be Caitlin Stasey. Other than that I think they got the cast right.

Although the movies are never better than the book I think the hunger games movie will be great and I am definately going to watch it. Are you???

It comes out here on my birthday and I am pumped. I think it'll be really good, but I agree with being disappointed by the third book. Oh well, though.

I can't wait to see it! I'm literally two pages away from the ending of the whole series. Every book was definitely worth reading. They all made me cry like a baby for what happened. Katniss is my hero. <3 She's been through so much and she sacrificed so much. She's so strong.

I've also read all three books ( agreed that the second is a bit slow ), and completely adore them. The end did upset me, but I don't think it was bad enough to ruin the third book for me. That being said, the first still remains my favorite.

Katniss is one of the stronger female characters I've read a book about in a long time, though I'd also have to say I also adore Peeta. I consider him one of my favorite characters of the trilogy, and was amazed to see that I wasn't disappointed in his portrayal in the movie. ( I saw it on Sunday! Eee! :eager: ) I was a little surprised by the choice in actors for both him and Katniss, at first, but after seeing the movie I've completely changed my mind.

It may just be me, knowing some of my friends that are also avid fans disagree, but I also found that the actors for Rue and Haymitch were very nearly spot-on. Haymitch had me frustrated yet laughing within seconds of his appearance, and Rue conversely had be laughing, then sobbing. In my thoughts, all the actors really did a lovely job, though.

I was pretty impressed by how close to the books this movie came. Sure, they missed the creepy faces on the muttations at the end, and I always pictured Cinna as Asian... Don't ask about that one... but other than that, it was pretty damn close, to the point that I was surprised by very little. Bravo, movie makers, Bravo.

Constat! I loved both the books and the movie! They didn't change much, and there were a few deviation on what the characters looked like__I thought Cinna was Asian as well, and I didn't imagine any black guys at all__but overall, the movie was perhaps the closest I've ever seen a film come to the book it was based off of.

so the movie is quite similar?

i've read all the books, and movies based on books always make we a bit nervous since they rarely do the book justice

I read the entire trilogy in five days. It was a little mad. I still haven't seen the movie, but I hope to in this coming week! I heard Jennifer Lawrence was quite something :3

I just watched this tonight! It was amazing. 5/5!
Practically everything was just like I imagined it to be.
I only noticed one small alteration to the book, but nonetheless, it was still a great movie.
I'm sad how they didn't have Taylor Swift's "Safe and Sound" song in it though...
I love that song.

The movie was quite good! I'm rather impressed with it, however the shaky camera tactic used during the fight scenes was a major let down. That's the only thing that ruined the art of the film.

In the books, I like the first book the best because the author had more time to write it. I bet for the 2nd and 3rd book she had a schedule so they aren't as well thought out as the first. I got bored halfway into Mockingjay and had to force myself to keep reading. They have good plots though, I just with they were more well written.

As for the movie, I'm going to see it tomorrow with my entire class... really excited. But afterwards we have to write a summary and compare the book to the movie which completely ruins it.

@Artifex:
I agree...
I wish it wasn't so shaky because I could barely see anything and I couldn't tell who was doing what.
D:

@Cuddlymoon:
I have to write a movie review about it for my writing class. I just want to enjoy the movie, I don't want to have to write an assignment about it.
>.<

But anyways, you will love the movie!

I loved the books to pieces and have read the first and second many times third only once due to not liking the plot change but the series in itself was an incredible piece of literature.

On the movie though i hated it. I myself are very picky when it comes to details from the book to movie and i think the plot was generally good but missed a little to much for my liking but realistically the little details that needed to be there weren't for a lot of the movie. For example when the girl got killed for lighting a fire just by Katniss who was up in a tree, the tree was suppose to be a willow but was not and i think a willow would have given it a better effect and there were a few scenes where she didn't even have her sleeping bag while up it the tree which i didn't like. I also didn't appreciate the shaky camera, In that 60 mill or whatever the movie cost to make wasn't there enough to buy a damn tripod??
Sorry to be a downer to everyone who liked the movie, That was just my personal opinion on it.

The book is amazing so far xD I'm still in the process of finishing the first one, since I only have until tomorrow to do so ! D:
The movie wasn't better than the book, of course, but it was really good, minus how they left our minor details, and the shaky camera and how the mutations looked like pugs/pumas.... a pugma? xD phahaha
