Never read her stuff, just dislike her on principle: Anne Rice.

I don't know, maybe I'm not being fair and if I read her stuff I'd enjoy it.. >.> I just, I dunno, I've met so many of her fans and they're sooo rabid about her. And from the sound of it, she basically writes about sezzy sezzy vampyres having sezzy sezzy sex and killing each other. xP

But like I said, I've never read her stuff.

Another group of authors, and it really can't be narrowed down to one, are those fantasy authors. You know the ones. In general, I like fantasy. But the ones who spend an entire chapter describing how UTTERLY SEXY such and such female character is, and how UTTERLY BRAVE AND WONDERFUL the male knight thing is, and then write the whole thing pretty much like A) it's never been done before, B) you know all the quirks and secrets to their made up world already and need zero explanations, and C) their story is the most interesting and philosophical one ever written and it's going to be the world's biggest international sensation amongst intellects everywhere.

They bother me immensely. D: And they make me think of people with coke bottle glasses and tree bark acne doing naughty things while reading under teh sheets with a flashlight.

Because, you know... they 'get it'. *eyeroll*

Two Dutch writers (I am Dutch)

Ronald Giphart: I'm all for sex in literature, but is porn literature? I didn't think so

Harry Mulisch: I like his books, I just don't like him. He's such a snob!!!

I dislike Morris Gleitzman and Paul Jennings' books. I just HATE their books. Not really them.

I might by biased, but I have to say that Jane Austen came to my mind at first.

I had this course on her books and was all excited because everyone appears to love her books, but I really can't get why. They're just too predictable and if you read more than just one of her novels you will probably notice that they're quite similar. For me they were plainly boring.

Oh and Diana Gabaldon is hated by me as well.

R L Stine. Those books were so annoying.

Ursula Leguin [sp?].. The Earthsea Quartet really bored, and confused, me.

..and whoever wrote the stupid 'Babysitter' series. D<

I hate Benvenuto Cellini... He wrote a bibliography about his life back in the 1600s or something like that... Anyways, he is a pompous arse and very full of himself... kind of amusing, but at the same time, very very very VERY annoying. Like when he talks for over a page of how great his gold working skills are and then randomly it's five years later and you are wondering what just happened... I hate Benvenuto Cellini.

Piers Anthony used to be a favorite author of mine. I loved his Xanth series until a little past the 27th book in the trilogy. That's when I realized how formulaic his work had become...
