I like this website better than Gaia!n Because for one you can a have a mature conversation without babies butting in and causing problems.

Only thing I ever enjoyed about Gaia is buying clothes for my Avi.
I never really bothered talking to many people on there because they were so immature and most of the time I couldn't understand what they were saying! Really glad I came across this site, although I am new here, I can see there are a lot more mature users.

I do, however, find that we have our fair share of oddballs and immature people, but they are far less than i've seen on Gaia. Here on Mene there seems to be more real conversations and people are far more mature. Its a great community, with a lot of great people.
Not to mention that its not overcrowded, the rules are really good and keep the site clean and friendly, the staff is very friendly and actually act like any other user. And unlike Gaia where you earn gold doing pretty much anything and all the items that are any good are worth a rediculous amount, Mene has cheap items that you can get if you just keep up with posting and maxing out on the games. Its not super easy to earn gold, because Mene encourages people to have real conversations that aren't just a few words long.

Also, we have awesome layering, and I think that the avis are the perfect size!

To be honest, at the moment I prefer Gaia,
But I've only just joined this site so I might get used to it after time.

Its just a little hard at the beginning when you aren't really use to everything
But I suppose that if you're someone that doesn't like posting much, then Mene might not be in your interest

I've been apart of Gaia for years, have two accounts on it, and have lost interest in it time and time again. The only reason I return to the site is because I'm an advent role-players, and all of my friends have an account. I despise facebook and myspace, so those aren't options for me.. Or twitter. Bleck.

I like this site much better - the people are more friendly, more mature, and willing to have an actual conversation than one word responses/insults. Gaia became a gathering center for all the annoying trolls, spammers, and illiterate people who think they're awesome and no one can read what they type. And for the people who strive to have the most expensive avi they can - which brings up the cash shop. x-x Gaia was much better before that came into existence.

I hate Gaia so much. I recently went on hiatus from Gaia and came to Mene. I like Menewsha SO much more. I can go on and on about my hate for Gaia.

I'm from Gaia too. Been a CBer ever since I started when the site first started. And I'm new here. I don't really compare them, and I know they're both fun. = w =

i ENJOY mene better then gaia >> i've been on gaia since 2003 back when it was GoGaia and i remember what it was like then and have watched it degrees into what it is today
that said i cant really say if one is better then the other
at the moment gaia has alot of really cool items and features that mene is lacking, but mene also has a lot of room to grow and in a way has gaia to look to for what NOT to do >> *coughcashshop* and then at the same time mene lacks the trolls and general spamming/bumping fast-paced craziness that is gaia
i remember a time when the GD was a fun and interesting place to chat
i still go on gaia from time to time to play with my avatar and occasionally i take commissions through my cash shop but for the most part im on hiatus >> i dont think i will ever quit completely since i have some rather valuable items there (2003 Donation items anyone XD) but i enjoy mene more, i have to work more for my items and my gold which i like and i really really like the avatars themselves WAY better

I dunno, every time I come onto Mene I keep finding more and more elitism. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but NOW there's a bunch of people ragging on gaia and it's moderators without actually looking into the facts. Too many people here have the mentality of "Gaia's making things for cash shop 'cause it's greedy". -_- Wat. It costs a couple million dollars to run that sight a month.

If you look at Fleep's journal he actually has a list of things they need to keep the site running... and it's a big one. Gaia is not being greedy, it's trying to stay free for its users. One of the things they're doing correctly (and mene seems to understand this as well) is making it so you can get just about ANYTHING on the site without spending money.

As for the inflation.... if you play the market you can get just about anything you want. You know what? If they're that determined to get something you shouldn't be complaining. I thought mene understood you have to work for your items.

I like Gaia better. They've been catering to what the majority wants as of late and pulling off some pretty funny things. Gaia's more "herp derp lol" while Mene's not... but that's what I like about Gaia. (They just made Lanzer a holy talking head offering to turn Timmy into an evolving item) Gaia and Mene are different, on here you'll find more people who like mene... I just like Gaia better.

Also whenever I go on mene there seems to be a thread in the Menewsha Community Discussion with people bashing Gaia. If this is where all the gaia haters are going then stay here, I won't be. Gaia's like my bff, when people start spreading rumors I'm not a happy camper.

I've been on Gaia for about five years. Unfortunately the sites declined so badly with growth that I've lost interest in it. Is this site better than Gaia in your opinions?
Although, I gotta admit that I'm sad about my loss of interest in that site. My account was worth so much.

Gaia, in all fairness, has lacked growth over the years. True, they stand in the fore-front of the industry, per se, but i guess if a company doesn't grow, people will start to get restless.

i guess thats my reason why im here. i too got bored with the said site.

I've been with Gaia off and on for a few years, I've lost interest in it too, it's just not fun like used to be..here you don't have to worry about virus's which is a major plus, that's one of the main reasons I like it, plus they have more games.

@ Astrelle; and on Gaia there are threads bashing Mene. Thats what happens when theres compititon. Coke vs. Pepsi. Old Dutch vs. Lays. Gaia vs. Mene. There is no right or wrong, its a matter of opinion.

I got tired of Gaia's push at money. I understand it takes money to run the site, (I'm in a web graphics course), but to continually push at people to spend hard earned wages on pixles... doesn't make sense to me. Offer and someones going to want it but don't push.

I like the close community, and the fact that I can go to almost every thread and find someone I've interacted with before and have a conversation with them. You should see when Diamondt and me get together *giggles* I never found that with Gaia, it was just too big for me. I only talked to my friends through pm and designated threads.

Again must someone bring up Mods. I'm still waiting for an account of mine to be unbanned. It's been 3 years now. *eyeroll* Thats why I gave up Gaia. At least here if theres a problem, the staff will make sure you know whats going on before you try to log on one day and !BAM! banned.

But all of this is just my opinion. Nothing right nothing wrong...

I'm a former Gaian. I don't really like one better than the other. I still do log on Gaia once in a while because of habit. XD I mean, I like Gaia for the easy gold and such, but the people there aren't as friendly and the items are insanely expensive. Like who has the time to make 1 000 000 gold? And whoever DOES have that time, needs a life. Seriously. The most expensive item I've ever bought on Gaia was probably 50k. And THAT took me a while to make. I can't imagine those people going for the millions. But these two sites are fairly similar. And those of you who are saying Menewsha is more confusing then Gaia... I don't see it. XD I find Gaia more confusing than Mene. Part of the reason why I like this place is because of the simplicity. I just find Gaia getting fairly boring. Nothing new. And that's why I'm a member of Menewsha now.

Mene right now is more like the original gaia where everyone was happy ans skipping around the forums so far i like this site much more because they encourage proper English and none of that text talk which takes me forever to decipher. I mean honestly how hard is it to type in proper English? not that hard. Gaia has a lot more clothes and nifty (yeah i just used the word nifty booh yah!) but mene still has a lot of time to create newer cooler items. The avatars on here in my opinion looks a lot cooler than gaia's semi-chibi avatars. The clothes on these avatars fit better and look nicer. I have yet to own any but the shopping is easy and i soon will. The gold on gaia come out in handfuls and most of the users have no idea how to spend it correctly here you have to earn it and you think more carefully about the choices you make. This site is a bit more difficult to get started on but it more friendly and it makes you appreciate the items you have gotten more because you worked hard to get them. Overall you're going to get a biased reply to this thread because you're on one of the two sites your comparing.

I stopped playing Gaia over a year ago when I got banned for being underage. I'm 13 now and I still haven't gone back. I like this a lot better than Gaia, I disagree that it's harder to make money here. At least the games on this site are actually fun and give you more than pocket change. Also, the Gaia team has turned into a bunch of money-grubbing little attention whores. I mean, just look at their Cash Shop. And all the sponsors and ads... Plus all of the annoying noobs and the drama in the GD. I used to hang in the GD all the time, and now it looks like a mini 4chan.
