Hello everyone.

Connielass: ~ that must explain why I don't like pumpkin pie. I have never cared for sweet potatoes.
I do like pumpkin bread & pumpkin trifle, just not pie.

I'm hoping the weather will dry up some today, I have so much stuff I need to start on for Christmas gifts.
We have decided to make gift baskets & I want to repaint some of the baskets to more festive colors.
I figure we will spend the next two Sundays making the cookies & cheese balls to go in the baskets.

Does anyone have any nice & quick recipes they want to share for Christmas?

@My friends; I know most of you don't like the mass pings, but I need some help with holiday recipes.

One of the ladies who fills in for me at work is wanting to do some easy snack sort of stuff for her son for Christmas eve.
I think he is about 3 years old & she has asked for any help with coming up with simple ideas that I can give her.
She will also have other people over, but she wants to find simple stuff that he will like.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do the kids like crackers? Could add a basil leaf, cream cheese, and red pepper on top of a cracker, arranged like the holly berry decoration for Christmas :)

salvete: ~ I'm not sure if they do.
I know she has told me he is sort of a picky eater.
I will ask as soon as I see her, that is a really cute idea for an appetizer.

I know I started to post this a few minutes ago, but it vanished. :(

Could always do the same holly shapes on pizza and other foods :)

Good luck.

@Connie
You're telling me that I've literally been fed lies all these years?!

I'm not big on pumpkin pie, really. Real or faux; this year I really wanted to bake a stuffed pumpkin, but no one seemed up for the idea and I can't eat a whole one on my own.

You can make Santa hats with strawberries. There are also ones you make without the brownie.

Does anyone know any easy Czech recipes? Preferably pastry recipes because bakery stuff is what I'm best at, but all the recipes I'm finding in this category require live yeast, and I just don't have the time to make the dough from scratch.

Would you be able to use maybe phyllo dough instead?

So I am going to be soon switching to a gluten free diet. I think this is why I am so sick all the time and doctors can't figure it out. My cousin, while she was in China, was getting sick all the time too and no doctors were able to help her either. She found out that it was gluten. Since she removed the gluten from her diet she is much better and I am going to follow suit to see if this is the problem for me.

Does anyone have any GREAT glutton free recipes?

Oohh I love those santa hat strawberries! they look scrumptious, but the strawberries aren't too great in my area during the wintertime. they are so nice in the summer though!

sorry that I don't have any recipes to contribute to the gluten-free menu or Czech menu.

Most sites, like Pillsbury and Betty Crocker and even King Arthur flour, have gluten free sections and there is so much stuff in grocery stores that is gluten free. Oh and Bob's Redmill has lots of gluten free stuff. Including yummy gluten free brownies.

Hello everyone.
Sorry been neglecting the thread again, work is keeping me so busy.

Hello Fuu-Chan:
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond.
Right now I think I'm getting sick.
Not sure if it is the flu or a sinus infection.
How have you been?

@Damia
that is alright I understand.
Oh no I hope you feel better and hope it isn't the flu.
Try to rest as much as you can.

I am very well thank you.
Excited/eager to get my laptop sometime next week.
I am just working on some art right now and posting around menewsha to get
more stamps for event items.

Like any of the Event common items?

Hello Fuu-Chan:
I'm Damia husband.
It turned out to be the stomach flu so she has barely been out of bed for days.

Oh No D:
I hope she feels better.
Tell her I hope she feels better and to drink lots of liquids to stay hydrated and try to eat something too.

CURSE YOU FLU! CURSE YOU I SAY.

Thanks Fuu-Chan.
Liquids is about all I have been able to keep down.
I did have a piece of turkey bacon today, gave up after one piece because it wasn't settling well.

It's good you are getting liquids down.

Well, at least you got one piece down.
Would jello be too much for you?
my mom usually gave my sis and I jello when we had the flu.

Thanks Fuu.
I will see if she can eat some jello tomorrow.
Over the course of the day she got about 3 pieces of bacon down and 3 french toast sticks.
That is her favorite breakfast so figured it was the best thing to try to get her to eat.

Hello connielass.
