Currently rereading the Sleeper Conspiracy books. They are considered teen fiction, but as I've said many times, that's the age where most of the innovation in fiction is showing up...
Most adult books are cookie cutter plot skeletons with cursing for fat and sex for skin...they have no muscle, only a shot of violence here or there thrown in for "action."

I haven't read anything yet. >>
Almost all the books in my to-read pile are books that I want to read, but nothing that I'm really excited about. And a lot of them are pretty big books.

Maybe I'll read Lord of the flies. It looks pretty short.

Lord of the flies was very interesting. I read it 2 years ago and there is a lot of symbolism in it. I read it for a school assignment and had to do a report on how Golding was a sexist pig. It turned out a B so I must have been somewhat convincing xD.

Oh no, now I don't know if I want to read it. xD; Does the sexism show in the book? Or was it just based off that all the characters are (I think?) boys?

Well there are several hidden things. He calls the island a her yet places all boys on it. Also theres the pigs. all female and the joy of the boys killing them. Then there is a bit of sexualness in it where he rights that one of the boys stuck a spear right up the pigs but and how its squeeled yet how the boy enjoyed it. I will not go into anymore specifics xD. but mostly its saying that the nuturing of the female island has drove the boys into evil.

@_@ I went to the library today to put some books on hold, and the book series that should be named had at least 3 copies of each book on hold. X_X THe fact that my library has that mnay of them scares me a little.

:
@ tireth and Yreka: I don't know if you all have read any of Philip Pullman's books? All of them are "children's" books (He wrote His Dark Materials, the trilogy of the Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, and Amber Spyglass). One of my favorite books by Pullman has to be Clockwork. Because it's sort of written like Finnegan's Wake; except that it makes sense and is much shorter. But, it the end and the beginning connect like in Finnegan's Wake. I also love the Firework Maker's Daughter. It's adorable!
I still havn't read them (havn't gotten around to it yet at least), but I knew that they were considered young adult or something like that. So it's not too bad. YA books, most adults don't read though. Sorta wish that wasn't the case.
:
exactly. adults are just too haughty to enjoy books for enjoying books. >:[
'Tis nice having friends of my mom. She's a children's librarian. xD

Edit:
Hexadecimal pages FTW.

@feyona - but i have SO MANY OTHER books to read. T_T

@dani - i'm surprised they only have three on hold.

@yreka - if you haven't read the his dark materials trilogy yet, read it. i got the giant omnibus a while ago and read it in 1-2 weeks (while i was stuck in michigan with no internet. XD)
it saved me from going mad, but the last book gets a little weird. not awful weird like breaking dawn, but just weird from the rest of the series.
yay, librarians! as long as i can remember, i've wanted to be a librarian, but that doesn't quite pay the bills.

ps.
the new doctor is scaring me a little. D:
he has the CRAZY down pat, but. THE HAIR. i want to shave it off. it's almost rpattz hair, but not quite. he has a weird spiral thing going on there and the other side almost looks like emo hair. XD

pps.
i've come to the realization that any sort of fandom i love makes me giggle like a school girl.

ppps.
more twilight crack. here, here, here, and here

pppps.
i typed this, like, HOURS ago, but i forgot to post because i got distracted.
by doctor who things.
and neil gaiman.

I know exactly how you feel Minet... the books on my list are roughly HALF the ones i'm currently reading... >.> And that's not including the ones that are already bought and sitting on my bookshelves. *cries* One of these days I'll stop buying books long enough to finish them. >.> But I don't think my boyfriend will. XD

I just need to get through that Advanced Banter book. It's fun, but it's hard to read all in one sitting because It's a fun quote book.

I take books like that in snippetts... it's one of the major reasons why I read so many books at once... Eventually I'm reading so many books and they're all really close to the end... I'll finish them at a rate of like... a book a day. Or less.. >.>;
