The new Doctor Who is fun, you can probably jump straight into it at any point without too much confusion. I follow the series when it's on because it's one of the few things I can watch with both my parents without us all going mad.
The repeats of the classic series used to be on when I was little so I can remember K-9 and Daleks being twarted by stairs. XD

@kat - children of earth. SQUEEEEE.
aww ianto is all bloody. D:
you know, i would have hugged him, but i was cosplaying tsunade from naruto and that would have been all kinds of freaky crossovers. XD
... that. that is sad. IANTO NEEDS TO BE CENTRAL CHARACTER.
also, that is a good disclaimer. we love gaiman. :3
ahaha stairs.
oh, the good old days. xp
@feyona - torchwood is... uhhhmmm.
a combination of x-files and contemporary drama?
but for the UK.
@dani - lamp chop hasn't been on the air for YEARS. what happened? XD
ps.
ahaha when i use the british keyboard setting for my computer and shift the 3 key, it puts £ instead of #.
BUT I JUST REALISED THEY'RE BOTH POUNDS. 8DDDD

Tireth: I have no idea who Tsunade is, but I agree with your sentiment. Don't encourage them!
When the rest of the team are out of the hub, Ianto flies off on Myfanwy and they have fantastic adventures. Fact.
+ Yip, £ is on 3 on my British keyboard. # gets to share a key with ~ (tilde makes me think of Tom Hilde, which makes me happy).

@kat - tsunade, although i'm guessing it's probably because you don't watch too much naruto that you don't know her. XD;
... IS THAT WHAT THE PTERODACTYL'S NAME IS? giggle. fantastic adventures. :3
funnily enough, the ~ is the shift for the ` key. when i put the british keyboard setting on, there is no way to type in #.
@dani - when do we make sense? ever? XD

I like this idea. I've kept solid track of what books I've read since late 2007, so this sounds like a great extension. I did 30 books in 08 with my biggest push being July and August (I think I read 12 books in that time period. So good!) and my biggest lull being January and December. Part of my mission101 was to read over 100 books in the 2.5 years and I'm well on my way to it. Clearly, 50 books is helpful. Here we go!

I had a few months where I wasn't reading as regularly (July, November) and thus didn't meet my goal. Had I started Infinite Jest at the end of January like I had originally planned, I would have made 15 000. But being only 850 pages short is still good, eh? I think so.
And now to outdo myself! Many large books are waiting for me this year as well as many canon staples and post-modern icons. Clearly this list needs more Vonnegut.
Book List 2010 To be filled in! Current waiting titles:
1. Proust was a Neuroscientist, Jonah Lehrer
2. Cory Doctorow, Little Brother
3. Infinite Jest, David Foster Wallace
4. The Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco
5. The Prince, Machiavelli
6. Tooth and Nail, Ian Rankin
7. The White Queen, Philippa Gregory
8. Number9Dream, David Mitchell
9. Little Big, John Crowley
10. House of Leaves, Mark Z. Danielewski
Tally
0/50
0/15 000

Yeah, but Palahniuk's a given. I'm talking about completely random titles. Like Ransom by Julie Garwood. Or The Crimson Petal And The White which you have to read eventually. Despite it's lulls. haha.

@leenie: :Sigh at cosplayers: Yay for the pink penguin though.
I went to the library to start a new series and the first book is only in large type. @_@
Not only that but it has pure white pages. Contrast, ouch.

I just started reading "The Stepford Wives" by Ira Levin in hopes that I'll like it enough to actually watch the movie. I don't know if anyone has seen the movie/read the book, but the commericals seemed interesting enough and I don't want to ask my boyfriend to watch it with me unless I like the book enough to actually want to watch it.

@dani - well, you know, there were at least two DOCTORS i saw. 8D
(i took a picture of one on friday and sunday.)
and, just for you, i took pictures of grell, kyo, eliazbeth & ciel, sailor scouts, and, uhm, the most amazing jack costume in the universe.
ewwwww large type and contrast. D:!
@feyona - the stepford wives movie was good, as far as suspense mystery movies go, but i heard that it was nothing like the book.
but i liked it and saw in theatres twice, so. XD
