@ Dream, I like the series, it's not a "OH MY GOD THE BEST BOOKS EVER" kinda series...They are fun, light "brain Twinkie" kinda books. I like the main character, Sookie, because she is an ADULT and makes adult choices throughout the series. She's interesting because she is a telepath (info told in the first chapter of the first book, no spoiler here), but the series just gets better and better as it goes along. More and more "otherworldly" characters get introduced. The next book is due out this month...So I will snatch that baby up as soon as it comes out on softback. One more book toward the 50!
Still, you should read the last book in the Twilight series. Honestly, it was the one I liked the most. Withholds urge to add spoilers.
Oh, and that is not saying that I loved the book, it was just the most...um...interesting to me of the 4.
SOOOO happy to have found others who are not thrilled with those LAME books.

@ljos - you. i love you. <3
and that is a symptom of autism. or. part of the spectrum.
there are so many types of autism, it's hard to generalise them all, except that they are social disorders.
i'm not gonna hit you. XD
i just have a seriously messy room, so i challenge people when they say they have messy rooms as well. x3
i told you it would be funny.
that is totally the best picture. well, one of them, at least.
@daria - I AM WAITING FOR THE DVD LIKE THAT AS WELL. XD
ohman. i only want it to laugh at it.
i think dream will post her take on it in here anyway, so you'll get to read it. :]
ps.
i am watching aeon flux. FINALLY.
it's awesome. AWESOME, I SAY.
i can't believe i haven't seen it sooner.
of course, i did want to see it when it came out in theatres, i just don't go to the movies much. :[

Daria- I am sparking at you! Tremble in feeeeeeeear! Seriously, though, if Stephanie Meyer wants to have sparkling vampires, by all means, let her. Vampires are fictional creatures, and that's actually not a bad twist on them. If one were to do it well. Which... she did not. So that's that. D:
Dream- I am fairly certain I went and ranted to m y mother, whow as erqually apalled. XD
Shadow- I completely agree. Even though it was for kids, Harry Potter was so intricate, well thought out, and overall, and excellent read. Twilight... I don't even know. But I'd say Harry Potter is still the reigning king of modern series, it spoke to way more people around the globe, and across age differences as well. The bulk of it's fan base consisted of something slightly more diverse than girls 12-20.
I SO WANT TO READ PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES. I have it on hold at the library. D: It needs to come in. Now!

Gosh, seriously? GOOD. Because he looked like an alright actor in the Harry Potter films, so I was a bit surprised by his performance. If he's playing him as if he was a person with disabilities, HE'S DOING A HELL OF A GOOD JOB.
Man I love this thread. I was afraid Twilight fanatics were going to hit me as soon as I opened my mouth.
I stole my copy of the movie by the way, never would I dream of giving money to that woman.
Oh, Charlaine Harris is the author of the Southern Vampire series? Someone recommended them to me in this thread once, I'd completely forgotten because I couldn't find them in the library back home. The uni library definitely doesn't have them and I don't have a public library card here.. I should maybe consider getting one next year though, if they have these books. I was very intrigued.
Kendra: Great choice of books! Well, the ones I know. I liked The Great Gatsby a lot, Dracula is fantastic and Lewis Carroll.. well, I hardly need to say anything there. I'm very interested in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but I sort of want to read the original Pride and Prejudice first.
Listening to the audiobook of Twilight makes me not notice the overuse of adjectives as much I think, but every now and then I stop and go "wait.. did she just use five adjectives in a row?"
Tireth: : D
And yes, autism is difficult to talk about because of the difficulty with generalising the symptoms. But there must be some that are more common than others.
With Harry Potter you could at least relate to the characters. I guess co-dependents can relate to Bella.. It scares me how many young girls seem to idolise Edward as the perfect man. I've only just started reading/listening but from what I've heard from people who have read the series, he's such an abusive bastard. And yet, young girls all over still swoon over him, probably becoming more co-dependent as they read. It's sad, and a bit scary.
