I didn't really think I would like One-Direction since it is a boy band, but they seem different then other boy bands. I am not a big fan of big time rush and all the newest boy bands, but this one I actually liked. n.n Maybe it is also because they are a British-Irish band too? XD

I'm not too fond of them. However, I do love the songs What Makes You Beautiful and One Thing. Also, Harry and Niall are adorable. :') Other than that, I'm not really a fan.

I like Harry Styles mostly, though all of them seem quite funny and adorable. :3 I also like that song too. That is the song I first heard from them and that is how I started to get into them. XD

I don't first notice his hair. I notice his face. I pay no attention to his hair really. I also admire his teeth as odd as that sounds. x.x I am not big on Justin Beiber.

He has a cute smile, mainly because he seems cheeky. I still laugh about the fact that on television he actually whispered into another artist's ear "think of all the pussy you're going to get" and then tried to say he was talking about cats. :rofl: Gotta love a trier.

lol. I am going to have to look up some videos of him when he isn't singing. I was trying to last night since I was scared cause I saw something that gave me nightmares in the past but I forgot about it and fell asleep. XD

Yeah here and there I see gifs of them on tumblr or we heart it.

I only hear "What makes you beautiful" from them. I do like the song. I'm a sucker for boy bands that are actually good though. XD I still love me some Backstreet boys and NSYNC every now and then too.

I haven't listened to those bands in ages. I think I just outgrew in listening to them.

Personally, I don't see what's the big deal with 1D. They're alright. I don't understand why Directioners have to be so freaky about them. It's the Directioners that really annoy me, not the band. hahaha I will admit however that their songs One Thing and What Makes You Beautiful are catchy and the lyrics are very sweet. Very boyband-like. I think their sound is a litte um.. perhaps, monotoned is a word for it? The songs sound way to similar to each other to me. As for their looks, they're cute and all but not fully my cup of tea. I wouldn't extremely fawn over them like everyone else is doing. And perhaps the fact that everyone else likes them so much is putting me off from actually liking them too because I have this silly little habit where, if something becomes over done or extremely mainstream, I slowly but surely start to dislike it more and more. It gets on my nerves. :/

I had never learned about One Direction until about May. Which was well after my numerous radio sing-alongs to their song, "One Thing" thinking that it was the Backstreet Boys', "I want it that way".
They are just like any other boy band. They're just styled in their music and appearance to match with what's popular.

Off-Topic: Well with anime and yaoi taking over the world by rage... Especially with Hetalia (ohgod...) it's kinda expected, in my opinion, for people to be that crazy. I mean I met a twitard or two that was that crazy for like Edward and Jacob (that's their names right?) to be together. There's those in the HP fandom, too. I stay away from the fandoms usually unless I realllly want to get me some OC x CC lovin'.

On-Topic: As said in another thread, I don't hate them but I don't like them either. I actually think the Backstreet Boys and N*SYNC are more vocally skilled than they are. I listened to a few recorded lives and their voices are all bland and definitely monotone sounding. The lyrics are not my cup of tea, I love lyrics like the lyrics in some of the ballads of Blood on the dance floor and MikeLWJ (or something like that). The lyrics I like have real meaning to them, and for some reason I just don't think they can make me swoon if they keep doing songs like One Thing and What makes You Beautiful.

B2ST, a South Korean boy band, sings a lot of songs with similar lyrics. However, their voices, especially Yoseob's, Dong Woon's, and Hyunseung's, sound a lot more emotional and meaningful.

I use to like the backstreet boys but that was when I was young and Naive. Now I just plain don't like their music.

I think why I like one direction is because how different they are with their vocals. And not only their vocals I like, their personalities in general. They seem to be gentlemen and they seem to have a lot of fun and that's what I like to see. Their not being the band they want others to like, their being the band they want to be and its real and not fake.
