Kiana is new to Forks. She just moved down here with her mother and her younger brother Eric. They're from Seattle but since her mom got laid off of work, so they decided to move to a smaller town to start their lives all over. Kiana is already registered into Forks High as a Junior and she'll be starting the following Monday and Eric is registered into Forks Junior High and will also be staring Monday. Her mother is still looking for a job but the government is sending her a check so they're fine for now.

Headphones in her ears, Kiana stares out the window as the trees past by. She was kinda excited to move to Forks but she was also nervous as well. She was going to be the new girl at school and she didn't want to be judged by anyone. She glances over her shoulder at her brother, he was playing on his Nintendo DS as always and she just smiled. Soon they were in Forks, and it hit her that it was a small town. She looked at the small shops that lined the entrance and just smiled as her mother drove past. About another 20 minutes passed and soon they were at they're new house. A 3 bedroom 2 bath. Climbing out when the car stopped. Kiana took out one of her headphones and went to the moving trailer, Eric was right beside her. Their mother was already inside of the house, looking around. She already arranged for the movers to send the bigger furniture, and all of it arrived safely. About an hour had pass and they unloaded all of the boxes into their new house. Exhausted, Kiana goes up to her room and plops down onto the bed closing her eyes.

Jacob had lived on the reservation as long as he could remember, there wasn't a time that Billy, his father, hadn't lived there. He had always been bad at learning from schools in the town of Forks, his father had tried to get him into the high school in town, but Jacob had left after a few weeks saying that it was too boring. So now he went to the school on the reservation, which basically didn't exist. He often drifted into town, causing trouble or just to have fun.

Jacob walked slowly around on the reservation, he often ran around in the woods, since it was a place that he felt more accustomed to. After an hour or so he heard a few of his friends calling, which he rolled his eyes at, no doubt they wanted to head to town just to screw around. He turned around and ran quickly till he reached his friends laughing as he pasted them yelling back that he would meet them on the road. After he reached the road he waited only a few seconds for his friends to catch up and get the car. He hopped into the passengers side of the large old black Chevrolet truck turning on the Rock station on the radio. Jacob and all his friends drove slowly into town with the windows down to let their long black hair move in the wind as they drove. They all joked while in the truck playing their music way to loud which caused a few people to give them weird looks, or at least very exasperated looks.

Sitting up, Kiana would walk back downstairs, sliding her Ipod into the back packet of her black skinny jeans. Her brother was unpacking his stuff in his room and her mom was unpacking the kitchen and the living room. Leaning against the door way, she would look at her mom. "Hey mom..do you think its ok if I go out into town?" Her mom would look over at her and would give a slight nod "Sure I don't mind. Maybe you'll meet new people while you're out." Kiana would smile and would wait for her mom to hand her the keys to the car. After a couple of moments and her mom didn't hand her the keys, Kiana would blink. "Umm..mom..can I have the keys?" Her mom would walk over to her purse and would pull out a pair of keys, but they didn't belong to the car. Smiling her mom would lead her to the garage and turns on the light. Standing in the middle of the garage was her motorcycle that she left back home. It was a surprise from her mother and her father. Smiling Kiana would hug her mother tightly. "Thank you mom!" Grabbing her helmet that rested on the seat, she would put it on and would pull out of the driveway. The roar of the bike would fill the block as she pulled out onto the street and drove into town.

As the Chevy pulled into town and they stopped in front of the local gift shop, getting out and all going inside. Jacob grabbed a cold root beer and walked outside waiting for his friends to grab their drinks. He unbuttoned his leather jacket as the sun beamed down for its one day in the year that it ever seemed to shine. When all his friends were done grabbing drinks they all started to walk down the street towards the park, they often hung out there since it was a slight difference from the reservation. Any one that they would run into on the way seemed to give them room due to misconceptions about people from the reservation. As they reached the park most of the boys ran off to bother the town girls who were out for the weekend. Jacob instead walked to a near by picnic table and laid down his head hanging off of the bench as he let his hair fall to barely touch the ground. He loved the sun and the warmth it brought, it always made him feel safe.

After driving around for awhile, Kiana would also pull into the gift shop. Taking her helmet off, she would run her fingers threw her hair and walks into the shop. Looking around she would go and grab a coke. Paying for it, she would leave the shop and starts walking down the street, she would notice a couple of boys but they were talking to some other the local girls so she keeps walking into she runs into a park. Smiling softly she would take a drink of her coke and would walk over to the swing set and places her helmet on the ground. Grabbing her Ipod from her pocket she would place her headphones in and turns up the volume and would sit down on the seat. Looking around she would notice a boy laying down on top of one of the tables. She noticed that he had extremely long hair for a boy, but it came to her that he had to be Indian.

Jacob closed his eyes as he sat there just loving the sun, he took a deep breath and oddly smelt something different and opened his eye. He blinked a few times as the sun hit his eyes and his eyes adjusted slowly to the heavy light. He looked up and saw some new girl at the park, he cocked his head slightly and raised an eyebrow. He hadn't seen her around before and she hadn't been to any of the parties down at the beach so she had to be new. He sat up and stretched looking at his friends and sighing as they kept trying to chat up the girls who were obviously not having any of it. He stood up and faced the new girl as he pulled his long black hair black and put it into a pony tail revealing his dark complexion and an obvious Indian. He stood up and walked over to the swing set sitting down a few swings away. He turned slightly but still with out looking at her asked, "You're new... where you from? and when you get here?" he said slightly abrasive.

Kiana watched the boy, swinging back and forward lightly as she listened to her music. Blinking a couple of times she watches as he sits up from the table, he must of noticed her. Glancing away slightly she looks over at the other guys, who clearly were his friends, talk to the girls who were ready to bail. Turning back she noticed that he wasn't at the table anymore. Blinking, Kiana looks around slightly and then noticed that he had took a seat on a swing not to far from her. She took out her headphones, listening to his question. "Yeah I'm new. I just moved here from Seattle. I'm just out exploring my new home" she replies softly, brushing back her bangs from her eyes. Since he was closer now, she can could clearly tell that he was Indian.

Jacob listened quietly to the girl and nodded as she spoke, " Ah well i guess that explains it. Well you've probably seen almost all of Forks just driving here." he said smiling as he looked around them, never looking at her directly. He didn't really want to alert his friends that this girl was new, they always swarmed to new kids to intimidate or get with them. Jacob scanned the park closing his eyes slightly as he took in a deep breath, smiling he looked up and chuckled under his breath. "You know, your family chose one heck of a town to move to there is really nothing here, its completely boring." he said. Jacob laid his head back smiling as he took in the sun.

"Yeah, I told my mom the same thing but really, I'm happy to move out here" Kiana says softly kicking up some rocks that were under her feet. Looking over at him she noticed that he wasn't looking right at her but more like around her. Probably something more interesting then her caught his eye. Sighing softly she places her sunglasses back on her face and looks up towards the sky. "I'm Kiana by the way" she says softly, glancing over at him once more.

Jacob listened and furrowed his brow trying to figure out why some one would be happy to move here, "Why are you happy to be here? There is nothing here.." he said finally looking over at her. He sat there for a minute trying to figure out if he should invite her to the reservation for the party they were having that night since she was new. After a minute he decided to ask her even though he knew that his friends would probably be all over her, or she might not even be able to come. He quickly looked away and smiled, "Hey... you should come out to the reservation tonight.. were having a beach party.... so i mean if you got nothing to do then come on out." he said smiling and standing up and walking over to his friends motioning for them to leave. He looked back at Kiana and smiled, "See ya tonight, oh and be careful the roads are all dirt and gravel so yeah." he shouted pushing some of them so that they would start moving back to the truck.

Kiana brushes her hair back, looking over at him threw her sunglasses. "I think its because I've lived in the city all my nice, its kinda nice to live somewhere more quiet" She knew that it sounded crazy to him, but if he knew her better. He'll completely understand. Suddenly she heard him ask her to go to a party that was on the beach. First day in Forks and she was already being asked to a party. Smiling, she stands up and picks up her helmet "I would love to come, sounds like a lot of fun. And don't worry my bike can handle it" Following behind him slightly, she would look over at his friends as she heads to bike.

Jacob smiled slightly as he pulled some of his friends away from the girls and headed back down the street looking at this new girl. He wondered why she thought everything would be better here, but he let it go he was sure that soon she would realize there was nothing to do here. When Jacob and his friends reached their truck Jacob jumped back into the passenger seat. He looked over and smacked the driver on the shoulder, motioning at him to stop staring at Kiana. The driver laughed and started up the car, and they started on their way back to the reservation. When they reached the reservation Jacob started making calls to make sure that everything would be ready for the party that night. He got out at his house and headed inside getting changed into slightly warmer clothes to head down to the beach. He said good buy to his dad and started to walk out the beach, he enjoyed the walks, and he knew it would probably take a few hours to walk there and he should get there right on time if he took it slow.

Kiana would make her way back to the front of the Gift Shop, where she parked her bike. She noticed that Jacob and his friends were in the truck that was right beside her bike. Glancing into the front window, she notices that the driver was staring at er. But before she could say something Jacob smacked him and he took his eyes off of her. Smiling softly, she would climb onto her bike and slide her helmet over her head, start it up and pull out. She took the 15 minute drive back to her house and pulls into the driveway, before dashing into the house. Glancing down at her watch, she noticed that it was 4:35, that means she had at least 2 hours to get ready for the party. Even though she wasn't fully unpacked yet, she headed up into her room to search threw the boxes of her clothes.

Jacob strolled slowly through the forest his mind wandering, he knew he was going the right direction just from instinct, and he had walked the woods of the reservation so many times. Something had been bothering him the last few days, and the walks helped make him feel better, there was something that was making him tense on edge, something that he couldn't explain. He knew all the stories about those that lived around Forks, the cold ones, though he found them some times hard to believe. Then again it wasn't all that far fetched there was weirder things in the legends of La Push. He walked slowly, Kiana coming to his mind a few times, he was slightly worried that his friends would be asses to her, they were always so unpredictable. Jacob strolled wandering where ever the path in the woods lead him, it wasn't untill over a hour and a half later that he realized he was wandering and he was further away then he wanted to be. Jacob sighed curing himself under his breath before running towards the beach knowing it would be a solid 20 minutes of running to get to the beach, he hoped he wouldn't be too late.

Kiana knew that it was going to be cool on the beach so she decided to just wear a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt with a deep v. Going to the bathroom she would brush out her hair and pull it up into a ponytail but would leave her bangs over her right eye. Hearing her door open she would stick her head out and noticed that it was her mom. "Going somewhere?" her mother asks softly sitting down on her bed. "Yeah..a guy I met invited me to a party on the beach" she replies softly putting on her shoes. "Well that sounds like fun, be careful and take my car. Don't want you getting injured on that bike" Smiling, Kiana would go back into the bathroom to freshens up a bit before grabbing her jacket. Grabbing the keys and hugging her mother, she would head back downstairs. Getting into the car, she would start it up and make her way towards the beach.

Jacob ran through the forest, until he finally reached the edge of the beach. He slowed down and caught his breath at the edge of the woods, after a few minutes he walked on to the beach looking at his friends and some of the girls from the reservation and town that had showed up. He smiled and relaxed trying to see who all was there, he noticed some people that didn't always show up to the parties. People like Sam and his fiance, but one person that he didn't see yet was the new girl, she hadn't arrived yet it seemed. He smiled and started to hang out with some of the people there, and he also started the bonfire for the heat and light later that night.

Kiana would tap her fingers along to the music as she drives down the road towards the beach. Pulling up she would noticed that huge bonfire as she turns off the engine of the car. She gets out putting on her jacket and puts her hands in the pockets as she makes her way down the slight slope that leads over to where the party was being held. She noticed the more she got closer that there was a lot of people. Mostly people that lived in the reservations that she heard about. But, she didn't noticed the one that invited her here, but she saw some of his friends. Taking a deep breathe she would walk over to them and pushes her bangs back "Hey..have you guys seen Jacob..? He invited me here"

Jacobs friends looked up and saw Kiana a few of them whistled, and cat called, then Sam turned and said he hadn't been there. Jacob heard the calls and looked up as he walked down the quickly darkening beach, he noticed a girl standing near the fire not looking like she fit in exactly and he sighed picking up his walk. He reached the fire just a minute later and smiled, stepping over his friends he pushed a few of them to make them shut up. "Hey Kiana, Welcome to La Push." he said keeping his hands in his jacket pocket. "Hey ignore them, they are all just assholes...." he said smiling before looked around, "Wanna walk with me? I hate just standing around all the time." he said ignoring the jests from his friends as he walked around the fire and part way down the beach looking back at her.

Kiana would roll her eyes when they did the cat calls and just shifted her weight onto her other foot as she keeps looking at them. And then out of the corner of her eye she would see someone walking fast towards her. Smiling softly when she noticed that it was Jake she would brush her bangs out of her eyes. Kiana would hold in a soft laugh when he pushed them out of the way and call them assholes. When he asked her if she wanted to walk with him she just nodded and caught up with him before he got to far. "So those are your friends? How can you put up with them?" she looks at him standing kinda close to him as she keeps her hands in her pockets. The sound of the waves would have a calming sound to it as she glances over at the water the moon starting to show.

Jacob smiled and chuckled lightly, "I put up with them because i grew up with them, in La Push there's not alot of kids, like in Forks. So we all stick together, and they provide entertainment some times." He said looking out at the moon and smiling. "So its nice you were able to make it here. I mean there isnt a ton to do out here, but its nice to just hang out on the beach." he said just trying to make small talk as they walked. Jacob looked over at Kiana and smiled, she was pretty and she didn't act like the other girls in Forks. "So how is it that you guys came to forks, i mean there's nothing here... and nothing interesting ever happens in forks." he said stopping for a second at a large rock and looking at the moon as the waves lapped against the shore.

Kiana lets out a soft laugh. "Well then when you put it like that. They suit you very well." She continues to walk along beside him, looking at the moon. "Well I wasn't going to pass up something like this, and I'm glad that you invited me" she replies softly, smiling at him. Jacob was very sweet and kind, not like the guys back from Seattle and I guess that's what she liked about him. When he asked her why her and her family moved to Forks, she thought for awhile. "Well..my mom got laid off so we all just wanted a new beginning." Climbing onto the rock she would sit down, facing out towards the water, looking at the moon. "And..I'm even more happy that I came here because I met an awesome guy"

Jacob watched her movement and smiled, he worried for a second that she was going to slip on the rock, but smiled when she seemed sturdy enough. "I'm sorry that your mom got laid off, but I guess i'm glad you moved here, means something different here." he said then blushed as she mentioned him being an awesome guy. "Well i'm sure that you'll find some one in Forks, especially some one as pretty as you, that schools got a lot of kids." he said smiling and looking down slightly. Jacob sighed looking at the moon, "Its pretty, the moon, nothing like it anywhere." he said before he leaned against the rock she sat on. "Good luck in school on monday, i'm sure you'll have alot to do there." Jacob sighed looking around, "So what you do for fun?" he asked looking at Kiana and smiling.

Kiana smiles softly at Jacob when he said that he was glad that she moved here. "Well I'm glad that I brought something different to Forks" she says giggling softly. Looking at him, she was able to catch a slight blush from when she said that he was awesome. "I hope so too, haven't had the best of luck with relationships" she said softly, blushing slightly when he said that he was pretty. Then he said the same about the moon which made her look up at it once more, feeling him lean against the rock, his shoulder brushing against hers. "Yeah kinda nervous, I never did like being the new kid" Kiana says looking down at him. Then he asked her what she does for fun "Really I just love being outside. Like this..is just perfect" she says smiling.

Jacob smiled and looked down at the lake, "I'm sure you'll find someone good here, because there's alot of guys in Forks." he said as he took a deep breath in taking in the lakes air. "Youll do fine in the school, New kids come and go here its just what happens." he said as he turned his head slightly looking at Kiana. "Well i guess its good you like the out doors here, there's nothing else to do here so unless you want to drive to a near by town your stuck here." he said looking at Kiana and then looking back at the ocean. "This may seem weird but be careful when you go out in the woods, there's been some weird things happening lately, people going... 'Poof', though its probably the bear thats been roaming around" he said making a motion with his hands of letting go of something. Jacob chuckled slightly and then looked back at Kiana, smiling before he took a deep breath and sighed looking back at the moon and lake.

Kiana smiled softly, looking down at him as he spoke. Telling her that she'll find someone and she'll do fine in school. "I guess you're right about both things and I wasn't really a city girl. I've been a country girl all of my life. And you know you can't really get that in the city" she says giggling softly. She listened to him say be careful while in the woods because a lot of weird things have been happening. "A bear? Well then..that must be one violent bear" she says looking back out towards the water. "When do you want to head back?" she asks softly looking back at him once more, the moonlight shining over her eyes.
