Her eyes went to him as he looked back at her. "I am not royalty or marrying royalty. So, no I am not a princess. I am an only child. And don't call me Lizzy!" Elizabeth said as she scowled at him. "Why do you hate me so much? What did I ever do to you?" She asked before stopping in her tracks on the sidewalk. With the cafe so close, Wayne was no longer needed to give her directions to the cafe.
The frat boys scared her a bit but tried to keep her attention on Wayne as she waited for his answer. Even though her stomach was also growling, she wanted to know why he hated her so much.

Lizzy's outburst cause him to pause a few steps in front of her. He couldn't tell her why he hated her simply because he couldn't remember. It was probably something that had started in their freshmen year of high school. Wayne couldn't remember ever being her friend and the rivalry was there when ever he thought back to the short long haired freshmen. "It's always been like this between us." Looking over his shoulder at her he shrugged, " why question it now?"
Without waiting for her response he headed towards the cafe's door. Let her stand out there like an idiot question things that just were and always would be.Nodding to himself he pulled out his wallet. She just couldn't handle that not everyone loved her like back in school. She was just being pouty because she wasn't living someone who was going to spoil her.

Elizabeth waited for him to answer her and scowled at his answer. She followed him into the cafe and pulled out her wallet as she got in line behind him. "I told you I was buying." Her blue eyes went to him as she ordered her meal and grabbed a bottle of water as well as some pop to stash in her room. The brunette looked at her roommate as before getting to the register and paying for both their meals. "I want to know why you hate me."
The truth was her "friends" had told her not be friends with him because they thought he was too poor for her. They told her who to be friends with and what to buy. This made her popular because her "friends" were popular, too. And now that they were gone, Elizabeth was free to be herself.

This was far different then their normal interaction of doing little things to irritate the other. Though he never enjoyed being around her he had found some amusement in their normal exchange. This was just irritating him. Not paying any mind to the poor cashier who was looking between the two as he punched in their orders Wayne snapped back at her. " You want to know why I hate you? I'm just as smart as you," if not smarter he mentally added but this argument wasn't about taking gabs at the others intelligence. For two of the smartest kids from their high school they called each other idiot a lot.
Storming off towards one of the empty tables he threw down his sandwich still not taking a seat.He didn't feel like sitting right now, and the anger he could feel building was starting to make him lose his appetite. This was why he avoided Elizabeth. Turning back to face her the words were spit out at her, " I'm just as smart as you but because of your rich little parents you think you are so much better then everyone else."

She stared at Wayne with a look of shock on her face. Apologizing to the cashier, Elizabeth took her tray and walked back to where he was. "I never said you weren't as smart as me." The teen said softly as she tried to make herself smaller. "Will you stop? You're making a scene." Her eyes closed as she started to eat her food. But Wayne's next comment made her pale and looked at him, speechless.
Elizabeth said nothing as she stood up and walked out of the cafe after throwing out her food. Then made the quiet walk back to her room with her arms across her chest. She got back to her room and curled up in a ball on her bed. Her eyes closed as she tried to understand how he could be so mean to her. Elizabeth was trying to be nice to him yet he held onto their feud even tighter. But why were they even fighting. It seemed like he didn't even care that they were fighting for no reason.

He stayed there in the cafe ignoring the odd looks from the other students crowding around the near by tables. It wasn't his fault she didn't like being called out on the truth. Her and her little group of friends had acted as if they were somehow better then everyone else. Finishing off the sandwich he had ordered Wayne balled up the saran wrap and moved to leave. He wasn't going to let the shock look on her face get to him. He was going to ignore the little princess. At least that was the plan but he seemed to find himself walking back to the only place he figured she would be at. He didn't really want to go back to his room and he wasn't an argumentative person. He avoided confrontation, it took to much energy.
Still he found himself in front of the dorm room door knowing that if he opened that door he was going to have a pouty little princess on his hands. Or she would be the quick witted angry Lizzy that came out when he teased her.Though he wasn't teasing her now. It was time to air everything out. They would be stuck together for a year.

Her eyes opened as she heard the door open and looked to the door. Elizabeth sat up on her bed and wiped at her eyes so the forming tears would not fall from her face. She really had nothing to say to him. He made it clear that he rather feud with her than be friends so he'd get his way. "What's the matter? Run out of people to torment? Or just like trying to make me feel more like crap?" The teen said as she held her knees to her chest as a small tear ran down her face.
Elizabeth sat there and waited for him to say something as she looked down at her bed. She wanted to enjoy her college years but with Wayne here, she better off transferring to another school. Her parents wouldn't care since they knew the deans of the best schools in the country.

Her tears threw him off. Was she really that spoiled that she would cry over someone calling her out on a flaw.No something seemed off about that. Wayne didn't know much about little Lizzy's moods but she didn't come off as the type of girl to cry. Sure he called her a Princess and yeah she was spoiled and acted like she was better then everyone but she wasn't one of those whiny girls from school. A voice, that sounded irritatingly like his sister, told him that he had done something wrong. " Why are you crying?"
The question came out a little harsh but hell he was still irritated at her and her crying wasn't going to suddenly defuse it. He had grown up with an older sister he was immune to a girls tears by this point. However watching the person who had been your arch enemy for four years cry on their bed was a little shocking. Knowing he made her cry didn't make him feel as good as he thought it should.

Elizabeth looked at him as she held her feet to her chest. Her eyes went to him as he seemed surprised that she was crying and scowled before wiping her face. "What I can't cry when a jerk yells at me in public?" The teen had never been so embarrassed in her life. No one had ever talked to her like that, in private or public.
Even at home, when she did something wrong her parents used their faces and body language to let her know that they were disappointed or upset with her. Elizabeth just sat there on her bed and wondered what else he was going to say to her since he seemed angry at her. "Going to yell at me more?" She sat there on her bed and looked at him waiting for him to scold her some more. Her chin rested on her knees as she looked at her pedicured feet.
Just because her parents, her friends, and everyone else treated her as royalty didn't mean that Elizabeth wanted to be treated as a princess.

" Not my fault you can't handle someone point out the truth." Moving away from the door he dropped himself down onto his bed. With the crown of his head brushing against the wall he could stare up at the ceiling and not her. She had called him a jerk, huh like he didn't have a right to be a jerk to her. Crossing his arms over his chest he glared up at the ceiling. He needed to put something up there. There was a niggling suspicion in him that he was going to be looking up at that ceiling for a rest of the year. no point looking around his room. She was going to be there. "Don't sit there and ask all self righteous. I didn't come to this conclusions about you out of thin air."

"Have I ever said you weren't as smart or smarter than me?" She asked before swinging her feet over the edge of her bed. "Look, have you ever thought that I am not what I seem?" Elizabeth asked as she noticed him avoiding looking at her. This annoyed her because it was rude not look at a person who was speaking to you. Her eyes stayed on him as she grew more annoyed at him. "Why should I even talk to you? You're not even listening." The teen threw a pillow at him and smiled as she felt better from throwing the pillow.
But the act did not fix their problem though. Wayne still thought she was a spoiled brat and nothing she said seemed to make him think any different. "Whatever, talking isn't solving anything." Elizabeth turned on her side and let him have his way.

His mouth was open, he was about to reply to her when out of no where a pillow hit the wall above his head and slid down to hit him in the face. She threw a pillow at him. Which was kind of silly stupid of her and the silliness of it diffused a little of the anger that was building in his chest. Wayne never was stay mad for too long. He liked them much better when they mocked and tore each other down with comments that didn't mean anything. Hating without reason was much easier then fighting like this.
Sitting up he flung her pillow at her back smiling a little as he watched it hit. "No it's not." At least it didn't appear that she was crying though she was doing that chick thing that they did in teen movies. " What do you suggest we do then Lizzy? Your pillow fight thing seems a little childish."

Her eyes closed as she was hit with the pillow. Elizabeth looked at him as he threw the pillow back at her. "Who cares if it's childish? If it makes us feel better, why not have a pillow fight?" The teen looked at her roommate as she gave a genuine smile since pillow fights were her favorite thing at sleepovers. She loved the moments when being herself was all she had to do. But doing so in front of her school rival? Elizabeth never thought it was possible.
"If pillow fight is childish, what do you suggest?"She asked as she held the pillow to her chest. Her blue eyes went to his while she waited for him to answer her question.

he didn't really have a better idea then hitting each other. Well he couldn't really hit her but he could throw pillows at her. Still it was the type of thing that was done in girls dorm rooms in college. It was kind of the guys talked about but didn't do, plus no amount of silly antics would take away four years of trouble between them. "As much as the idea of hitting you would make me feel all warm and fluffy inside. I don't think it's going to make us best buddies. " The last part was said in the most badly done imitation of a teenage girl.
He didn't think anything was going to make them friends. They might be able to make it to none hostile acquaintances after month of living together but really they were way to different.

The teen scowled at his imitation before sighing and looked at her alarm clock. "Whatever. Classes start at 9am tomorrow so I am going to bed." Elizabeth stood and tossed the pillow at him again but it had her scent of white tea and jasmine. She grabbed a blue set of pajamas with gold stars on the pants before going into the bathroom. Her hand pulled the door shut as she went through her routine of washing her face, brushing and pulling back her hair, then changing into her favorite pajamas.
Elizabeth looked at herself in the mirror and tired to think out how to make Wayne change his thoughts about her. Wait, when did she care about how he thought of her. She had to focus on her schoolwork and making her parents proud of her. She picked up her clothes and opened the door to her bedroom.

Catching the pillow midair Wayne stuck his tongue out at her back and tossed the fluffy girlie mess onto his bed. She obviously didn't want it since she kept throwing it at him. Pulling his shirt over his head he let it drop to the floor before her started to kick out of his shoes. He's first class was at 10 tomorrow and he had a feeling another rule was going to be added very soon that involved sleep and alarm clocks. Once he had manged to get out of his jeans he let them drop near his discarded shirt and climbed in for bed. It had been a tiring day. Opening up his laptop he logged onto his Facebook to do a quick check in to see how his friends where settling in to their new colleges and lives. it seemed Erik had already spread his good news.
Closing down his laptop as the bathroom door opened the placed it back on it's spot beside his bed on the floor." Night Pr, Lizzy." She had stopped crying there was no need to work her up again right before bed. He was tired and he wouldn't be able to sleep if she started crying again." oh and I'm holding your pillow hostage." To make his point he lifted said pillow and waved it in the air before tucking it under his head encase she made a dive for it. It smelled...kind of nice. Like some kind of flower and tea. Huh he should have figured she would smell nice but well he always thought it would be that acid pufumey smell the other girls in her little group smelled like.

Elizabeth looked at her roommate as she tossed her dirty clothes into the hamper. Her eyes went Wayne as he laid on his bed in his underwear...with her pillow. "Can I please have my pillow, Wayne?" Blood rushed to her cheeks as she sat down on her bed's edge. A smile came to her face though as he stopped himself from calling her princess. The teen looked at him and waited to see what he wanted to get her pillow back.
She set her laptop on the floor next to her bed then checked her phone for messages from her "friends" or her parents. Neither had messaged her yet to see how she was. Elizabeth set her phone on her dresser and looked at Wayne since he had her only pillow. "My alarm is set for 7:45 am. If you get up, I might buy you breakfast." Her eyes stayed on Wayne as she waited for the return of her pillow.

"Fine fine." Throwing the pillow across the room to her Wayne noticed that his pillow smelled like wet hair. It was kind of unpleasant after the scent of her pillow. Rolling over so his back was facing her Wayne pulled the covers up over his shoulder. " I don't have to be up till 8. I'll just grab something from a vending machine." Yawning he stretched out under his covers. it had been a long day and tomorrow was going to be the first day of classes. He had several advanced classes in his first semester two of which he had tomorrow. He had been told that college would be different. They had no idea.

She caught her pillow as he threw it at her and smiled before looking at him. "Thank you." Elizabeth turned out the lights and crawled into her bed. Her eyes closed as she faced the wall and closed her eyes while trying to get into a comfortable spot to sleep. After a night of confusing dreams, Elizabeth opened her blue eyes as the alarm went off near her head. She sat up and stretched as she yawned before walking towards the bathroom. Her hands wiped at the sleep in her eyes as she used the restroom.
Walking from the bathroom, she gathered a pair of jeans and a t-shirt as well as her underpants. Her eyes went to Wayne before entering the bathroom and shuting the door. Elizabeth sang softly in the shower as she washed her hair.

The blaring sound of an alarm tore Wayne out of his dreams. Rolling over he glared in the direction the foreign sound was coming from. His alarm was set to go off like the self destruct warning at a power plant. In a haze if post sleep confusion the blue eyes male just couldn't understand what had woken him up. Taking in the girly side of the room a face trudged from the back of his mind. oh yeah Lizzy had mentioned getting up early for breakfast. Grunting out his annoyance at being up he rolled back over making sure to pull the covers over his head. He could get a whole another hours worth of sleep.
He fell back into a half sleep state while the shower could be heard running behind the bathroom door. The white noise of the water pulling him further back into REM sleep.

Her hand shut off the water before reaching out for the towels on the counter. Elizabeth wrapped the towel around her frame before using the towel to squeeze out the extra water from her hair. She stepped out of the shower and got dressed after air drying a bit more. The teen brushed her hair while using the blow dryer to make sure it was dry. Elizabeth applied her make-up before walking out of the bathroom and gathering her stuff. She didn't know why but she looked towards Wayne. He was still asleep and had his back to her so she didn't know if he was awake.
Elizabeth locked the door after putting her cellphone and wallet in her pocket while carrying her backpack. She walked towards the cafe to get something to eat before her class started. It was already 8:30 and her classroom was a good distance away.

It felt like he had just rolled back over to go to sleep when his alarm clock went off.Wayne debated on throwing the damn thing across the room and go back to sleep. The bed wasn't as soft as his one at home, that one had been beaten into submission through out the years of use. He hadn't gotten his normal amount of sleep but it was the first day of classes. Rubbing a hand down his face blue eyes looked around the room. Lizzy was no where in sight and from his bed he could just make out that the light in the bathroom was off.Good he wouldn't have to put on pants.
After a quick shower and a change of clothes Wayne had 15 minutes to get to his first class. After stopping by the vending machine for a bag of chips and a Mt. Dew Wayne was on his way to...ugh what was his first class again? Oh right Intro to Biology for biology major.Which he wasn't but regular biology was a little to easy. Then he had English 102 and lunch.

After grabbing an iced coffee, a strawberries and cream danish, and a bottle of water, Elizabeth darted towards her morning class in the theater building. Her eyes stayed on the teacher as she wrote down notes as her iced coffee and danish disappeared. Soon the time came for her English class and left the building heading towards her next class.
The brunette stopped at the door as she saw who was in her class and blushed. Was that Wayne in the same English 102 class as her? She didn't have time to talk to him as the teacher started to go through role call and going over the syllabus.

First day of class was boring. The teacher had went over the syllabus and answered any question but all in all Wayne felt he could of slept in. if every class was like this then he wasn't going to another first day for the rest of his college life. it had been a waste. Still he got out early enough to grab something from the on campus coffee house before he made his way to English.
Sitting in the corner in the back, that was on the side of the door, the black haired youth tapped his pencil on the clean white sheet of notebook paper in front of him. After call out that he was here he let his mind zone out. Until the woman at the front of the class called out the name of his room mate. She was in this class as well. Looking up from his desk he scanned the room before he spotted her. Yep that was Lizzy. It wasn't at all improbable for them to have the same classes but he hadn't really thought it would happen. Sharing a room was one thing but now he had to see her. There was no bathroom to lock himself in or headphones to cover his ears and pretend they weren't living together. Letting out a tired groan he buried his head in his arms and let the teach drone on about the syllabus.

Elizabeth sat near the back of the room away from the door and tried to stay focused on the syllabus in front of her. But she felt his eyes on her for a moment before he groaned and she heard a thump. Her eyes went to him as he put his head down. The brunette looked back at the teacher as she went over the syllabus and the pairs for the first assignment due for the class. It was to interview each other and find out what you had in common with each other. Her blue eyes grew wide as the teacher decided to pair her with Wayne.
She looked at Wayne and wondered if the professors knew that they were rooming together. Her eyes closed as the teacher dismissed the class to enjoy the sunny day. The teacher left in a rush for a meeting. Elizabeth left before Wayne could catch up to her.
