Bad Weather

It's been a week now, raining non stop... Dark all hours, street's backing up with water, lightning cracking through the sky at night. I sware, I could set my watch to the thunder. Yeah, quite the soggy mess this city has turned into, and it only got worse when we lost power.

Looking back, I suppose we should have realized this phenomena was more than bad weather. Even me, unusually good at sniffing out the unusual, took it mostly at face value. I suppose that's why no one realized what was happening until the bodies started clogging the drains...

Welcome to Bad Weather, a supernatural horror RP. We are open and accepting, we are a heavy literacy RP, and before you read any further, I would like you to read the "things you should know" post below this one. It will save us both time.

Things you should know

This is the most important post in this thread. Read it first.

-This is a vampire RP with references to both the traditional and the not quite as repulsive vampires. None of them sparkle. Period.
-This is a heavy literacy thread. You should know how to spell, punctuate, and just generally write properly. I'll not impose a minimum paragraph per post law, but one-liners should always be a last resort, and aim for one-two paragraphs. Flesh out your posts. Give us something meaty to chew on.
-There are a limited number of slots, and each slot has it's own race assigned. There are multiples of each race, but once that race is gone, we will accept no more like it.
-If all the slots have filled up, feel free to submit a profile anyway. Dropouts are inevitable, and maybe something will open up later.
-Don't be a dick. You should know what is and isn't acceptable in a role play. If you haven't figured that out, you are not ready to be here.
-I'm really a nice person. I like talking, I love role play, I'm good at making people feel welcome, but I am quite sick of RP's falling apart because of one person not having their shit together. If I refuse you, it is for a good reason. Leave it at that.
-This is more of a supernatural RP than horror, but things will get dark.

Setting

Lluvia, a towering city past it's prime, has been under looming storm clouds for 7 days. The relentless rain has left much of the lower city inaccessible, and rolling power outages have even the most hardened man on edge. Something isn't right, and now with the all encompassing blackout as the main power plant mysteriously shuts down, few aren't wondering if something more sinister is at work. The only thing connecting the cities people to the outside world are radio's, and from what they hear, they are truly alone in the darkness.

In the midst of, apparently, nature's wrath, the resident vampire clans have grown to like this constant, albeit a bit damp, night. Able to roam freely at all hours, the youngest have taken full advantage of this lasting darkness, roaming the street's in packs, looking for some poor soul to entertain them. Their sires have taken refuge in their various underground business's, finding great profit from Lluvia's misfortune. The only one's seeming uneasy about this sudden change are the elders, murmuring of an ache deep in their blackened souls.

What, exactly, could worry the most ancient and powerful clan leaders...?

That is exactly what you and your fellow role players are trying to find out. Surprisingly enough, I do have a pretty cool ending for this, so there is actually a point to the story, something I don't think many role play creator's can boast.

Races

The races of this world are fairly straightforward, but in case there is any confusion, I would insist you read these basic outlines to get a better handle on things.

Humans:

Humans are just that; Human. They are fragile creatures, and while some can be trained to the point of near physical perfection, they all have an expiration date, and it can always get closer. Most are completely ignorant of the shadow lurking in the underbelly of their cities, and it is no secret that is for the best.

Vampires:

Vampires, perhaps the most powerful beings ever to exist, are known for a great many things. Exactly how much of it is myth and fact remains to be seen, but what most commonly applies to them is:

They drink blood to survive, or even eat raw meat from time to time
They cannot enter sunlight, for it burns them
Holy artifacts, as well as a silver crucifix, repulse them, and can leave minor burns should it touch their skin.
The have incredible strength, speed, and agility, plus they use their inhumanly good looks to charm people into a false sense of security.

Most everything else is pure myth. For example, the stake thing would kill anyone. As for less physical power; it is believed that the more ancient vampires have access to long lost tomes of witchcraft from before the crusade, perhaps the only remaining documentation of true Wicca and Paganism, which they would use in times of great need. Other's think they have been charged with protecting ancient and holy artifacts capable of destroying their kind in it's entirety, and would use them to destroy rivals.

The bottom line is vampires are indeed powerful. Speed, strength, intelligence, and beauty all culminate into a deadly predator. Thankfully, the Vampires seem as interested in keeping themselves under wraps as everyone else.

Slots

Currently there are six slots available.

Notice each slot has a name of a race. Once you do not see a race on this list, that race is full and there will be no more accepted. However, should you really be anxious for a spot, you may send in your profile anyways, and I'll keep it in my inbox in case someone drops out.
