This current one has been like 2 months so far, but it is slowly starting to dwindle as excitement for NaNoWriMo picks up

and i've heard of that, the writing thing. kat dakuu told me about it and it seems a cool idea!

Oh, I once played 8 hours pretty much non stop (forgot to save too, lost all my data for about 5 hours worth of that day. REGRETS.)

And NaNo is very cool. I may be overestimating myself for it this year though. /so/ /much /planning/

ok so my honest to god, longest time i ever played was when my brother got sims 3 for the xbox he has and i shit you not, i played that game for 17 hours straight. i stopped for bathroom breaks and to get food, but that was it. constant

i guess i never really learned much about it except you have to meet a word goal, is that correct?

17 hours?! holy shit? I don't even know how you could do that.
And yeah, the goal is at the end of the month have 50k words (or more, if you're ambitious). Beyond that, there aren't many rules except that all words have to be written during November. Any other rule is technically self imposed, but it would be against the spirit of the month to include, say, forum posts and skype conversations. It is "Novel" writing month after all. The website is Nanowrimo.org if you wanna check it out and we have a thread over in the writer's conference for discussing our word counts/planning/whatever.

i didn't mean to do that my mom had this sweet blow up queen size mattress that was like two mattresses thick and i had spent the night on it and just sat there playing my family is a bunch of gamers, even my mom, so it wasn't too bad because my mom and bro were playing their games too

ah ok, i get it now. that is really neat though and i wasn't in the middle of getting my master's at the moment i might partake but i am far too busy and probably will be for the next year and a half or so

Ahh, that kind of makes sense then... but still! That's a very long time.

And yes! Your masters is much more important!

a master's in simology that would be awesome. i've definitely put in the hours but i'm not sure i'd get a lot of job offers... in fact, i don't even know what they could be

on another note, bearzy, you and i look like we could be from the same universe i think

I think you could get a job playtesting new expansion packs? That would be really fun!
And oooh, we do too.

RPGs mostly, I love Mass Effect & Dragon age in particular. I also have a weird obsession with the Assassin's Creed games, but I'll basically play anything if it's available, even sports games.

that's pretty cool, i mean to not be so drawn to one particular genre. i find most people are a bit snobby about their favorites i am too though

I tend to be snobby about individual games, like if I play a game and it's shite I'll be snobby about that. But not about whole genres because stuff changes constantly.

this is very true. i like when they mix things up like have some sports intertwined with an RPG... much like blitzball in final fantasy X ;)

Y'know, I've never played final fantasy? It seems weird, but I just haven't.

really? well they are a must if you like RPG's and you already said you did soooo you should check em out! there are a lot. my mom used to play them on the old nintendos when i was a kid. i blame her for the final fantasy affinity.
