I'm loving the settlement building so much that I have yet to engage the main storyline. Sorry stolen baby son... papa will rescue you one day. I just have to finish my settlements first.

Oh god, this is me. My Sole Survivor is level 20 and I s2g that at least six of those levels were gained by building and starting settlements.
I was born to be general of the minutemen, and Shaun's new dad is gonna be Preston Garvey.

This is Grace/Gracie, my sole survivor. She's a whizz with a sniper rifle, but deadly up close too.

I like the building in this game. I built a ton of buildings. lol I just treat it like Sims, but with shooting and of course in a post apocalyptic world.

That said, wouldn't it be cool to actually play the sims in a post apocalyptic world? Imagine if they had to catch or grow everything they ate. Super fun.

I actually tested Fallout 4 over the summer, so it's really nice to see how much everyone is enjoying the game.

I went a Luck/Perception build so I spend a lot of time in VATS. School obligations mean I haven't been able to put as much time in as I'd like, but I've finished the main quest, built up a nice settlement in Sanctuary, and generally going without a companion. Pretty excited for the mod tools to come out eventually!

Is it very difficult to finish the main quest? I've been putting it off, but I realise now that I'm about level 23 and still haven't bothered

Nope, it's pretty easy. If you side with the Minutemen it can get a bit lengthy, but there's a turning point at the Mass Fusion quest where you pick which faction you want to side with and it plays out pretty straightforward from there. As a whole though, I don't think the game is difficult at all, so your mileage may vary.

Ah, I am with the minutemen (all the way, love Preston to bits the big doof), but I had to give the game back to its owner, so I haven't finished it . No matter though, now I can focus on Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Rise of the Tomb Raider without distractions.

Pkero - I almost went luck but people told me not to. Kinda wishing I had now.

My only complaint is that the game limits how much you can build. The castle is barely covered and I'm at the limit because I placed 20 turrets, 8 generators, and 50 plants...

Does anyone else have a severe problem with having too many guns they want to use? I'm currently walking around with a sniper rifle, a pistol, a melee fist, a shotgun, a machine gun, an energy gun, and I forget the last one. I am by default at like 100 weight at all times.

I don't bother with the machine gun, but yeah.. I do that too.

I didn't much, until I found one that shot exploding fireball bullets...

I still need to find a decent pistol... my current one doesn't seem to do any damage.

I find that a good sturdy 10mm with the right mods are pretty fantastic.

What are the best mods for it? Mine does decent damage, but can't seem to hurt anything.

I find that mods that increase accuracy are the most useful, because it's more about shooting around the armour than battering the armour down.

Hmm you have a good point. I found a lot of times even pointing straight at their head didn't seem to hit.

I find that it depends what armour they're wearing. But I usually try to pick people off with a sniper rifle then charge in with a shotgun and finish everything off.

That's a good combination. I'm pretty bad with a sniper rifle I still need lots of practice with that.

I'm considering starting over though. The stats I was told to focus on don't really benefit my playstyle all that well.

Do you use many grenades? I found that those were incredibly useful as well.

Oh yes... I love grenades but unfortunately I seem to use them faster than I get them. I also have the fatman but I want to have a heavily modded one before I start using it.

It definitely feels like overkill. Is the missile launcher any better?

Actually, I haven't used that one at all. And I lie, I did use the fatman, on the Mirelurk Queen at the Castle.

Ah. I don't think I had the fatman on me during that quest. I think I ran across the rocket launcher while exploring the castle prior to it's arrival. Shot it in the face a few times but didn't seem to help much.

It wasn't like, super effective. But it did do enough damage that subsequent shots with other weapons were able to make a dent.
