Amelia: - I know, like if the wind was just a little bit different that's all it would have taken. that's freaky! We have a lot tall tress on our property so I know hubby has been trying to keep them trimmed so there are less likely to split. About 15 minutes from work, a few years ago I think it was, someone drove off the road and ran into a house and right into the bedroom of a child and they hit the bed he was sleeping in and killed him. It totally shocked the community, you aren't even safe in your own bed. That is more of a freak accident, but it still hits home for me that, wow, it could happen no matter where you go.

crunky: I know, the weirdest part was the it was very windy the nights prior, and even the next few nights after. That was the one night it was dead still outside. It was so freaky. It's so crazy how easy it is for those things to happen, everyone often forgets that a disaster could easily happen to them too.

Amelia: - yeah, sometimes I think we are on information overload so we are too busy worrying about things that are not life threatening. (I know I am xD) The big storm that is coming (Hurricane for some) looks pretty scary. We are doing so changes to our yard such as grading it off so that the water doesn't flood the basement. We already did some changes prior to this including a french drain but since this one looks to be worse than before, we just want to make sure we do all we can to be safe.

crunky: I know what you mean. I'll be getting it with that hurricane as well, but last I heard it shouldn't be too bad by the time it gets to where I live. Although, I'm trying to look on the bright side. I'm just hoping my boss decided to close down for the day, so I get to stay home. <3 Mostly though because I don't want to be out driving in that kind of weather.

Amelia: - Yeah, I enjoy just staying at home when it's bad like this. I like to sit on the back screened in porch and listen to the storm (if it's safe to do so) knowing I can make a break for it and run inside if I need to. xD Plus my husband is a weather addict so I am always ready with up to the minute weather information. lol
