Now for a rant:

My work has the drama level of freaking middle schoolers, I swear!!! The front cash girl, J, started to.....have sex (don't know what else to call it - because that's what they are doing...she was dating someone else at the time they started and just broke up with the other guy)....with the chicken guy, T. They've started to get more and more lovey at work and it's SOOO annoying.

We'll get orders for KFC and T is nowhere to be found. Turns out he and J are in the back making out. Or we'll have people up front waiting to order and she's over in KFCland hugging him and pulling him around. It's to the point where they are ALWAYS behind in their work and we are having to cover for them.

So...my boyfriend who works there with me told the manager yesterday about it and another of my coworkers confirmed it at the same time because she sees it a lot as well.

Well...today I come in with to work and the assistant manager goes, "I don't know who is spreading rumors but someone told the store manager that YOU two are always lovey and on each other and making out, so just be aware she'll probably talk to you."

Now....that is a rumor...a lie. Occasionally we'll give each other a passing hug in the back, not in front of customers...but we are all business at work. I get my work done. He gets his work done. I dont' distract him from his job and he doesn't distract me. Our relationship does NOT interfere with our ability to do our jobs...nor are we ever inappropriate at work.

The store manager called my boyfriend to the office and brought it up to him and he told her what I just said. She goes, "Well it's not just T that brought it up to me" and he goes, "i know, it's T, and J, and the female assistant manager who just warned me I'd be talking to you" and she looked at him surprised that he knew that. He then proceeded to tell her, "why would I bring up that their relationship is a problem if I thought in any way I could get in trouble for mine?" And she just let him go after that.

It just ANNOYS me that people constantly talk shit behind my back. AND that the store manager never brings ME in to hear MY side of ANY story. I mean, seriously...even in middle and high school people didn't talk as much shit about me behind my back as they do at this damn job.

EVERYONE HERE talks crap about people. It's SOO annoying. I don't ever go to the managers about any of it. Somehow they will find out who talked and turn it around to get me in trouble. So I bite my tongue if I have a problem and just get over it. But people here can't seem to do that. And they want to involve me in the drama anyway.

I wish I could go to work the next few weeks and just not talk to people but I know I wouldn't be able to do that. But I'm not going to do or say a damn thing other than my job and an answer if they have questions. I'm just so over this place and over these people and over this drama.

The best part though...is that I only have THREE WEEKS LEFT! I can do this...I can do this...UGH.

That sounds sooo annoying! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that! My mom's coworkers act like they're high schoolers as well, and they work in a hospital!

I kinda know how you feel. My cousins are exactly like J! They goof off at work, post stuff on Facebook while they're on the clock, make fun of coustomers while the coustomer can still hear them, just a bunch of inappropriate stuff. Luckily, I haven't nor will I ever, work with them, but they pull all that drama stuff with me all the time. Yours is more serious though because it could cost you and your boyfriend your jobs. I'm so glad you'll be out of there and away from that.

That really is unfair that they never let you take up for yourself when there are situations like that. Your manager really needs to get out of there. It sounds like she really has no idea how to run any kind of business.

Do you have any vacation time left? If you do then use it all up. That way you still get paid, you get a nice break before you start your new job, and you'll be away from all the pathetic immature people.

I DO have my vacation time...a week's worth. But I'm not allowed to take it until my store manager approves and she isn't going to approve knowing I'm leaving. I already asked >.< Another reason I can't wait to leave this place! it's not fair that i put in over a YEAR of hard work and get nothing to show for it.

J is ALWAYS on her freaking phone. ALWAYS. She'll go out the door to the lobby and stand there hidden from us and on her phone...but all the customers can watch her doing it.

Plus you tell her there is someone up front and she goes, "they can wait" and goes back to being on her phone or talking and bugging T.

Plus one of the two people I actually like REALLY needs the money. She's supporting herself, her twenty-something year old knocked up daughter, and her two year old granddaughter. The daughter doesn't work....hasn't had a job in ages. She is pushing her to get one but people don't want to hire a pregnant girl. The rent she pays each month is pretty much both the month's paychecks...AND she just lost a week of work because she injured herself at home and couldn't even stand up. So she doesn't know how she is going to pay the rent this month. AND the schedule for next week just got put up and HER hours were cut badly...She was making like 40 hours a week a month ago and now she is down to 26 hours next week. That SUCKS. So if my cut hours in any way go to her, I'm happy.

What!?! I'm pretty sure they are required by law to give you your vacation time or compensate you for what you don't use. If there is anyway to report that she isn't giving you your time, I'd do it. I mean for pete's sake! They're already cutting your hours! Why not just give you the week!?

She said, before she knew I was leaving, "you have to wait for these two people to go on theirs before getting yours" so I said okay and waited and asked her after they went on their vacations. And she said, "well these two people need to go first now...so you have to wait" and then she found out I was leaving and there is no hope. I'm just so mad. I worked SO hard for my vacation...SO hard. and it would be SO nice to have it so I can move my stuff to my apartment and work on lesson plans..but I'll have to do all that on my days off and before and/or after work.

Your cousins sound horrible! but that is pretty much the drama that goes on here too D: People trying to get each other fired all the time.

Talk about not being fair with hours...this guy at my store is late a lot, doesn't show up sometimes, talks back to the managers, doesn't get his work done, throws tantrums and ends up throwing pans and stuff around when he's pissed, got caught bringing beer and weed to work, has showed up drunk and stoned....and much more. Well....he didn't show up Friday morning for his 8 am shift. He thoguht he could make it to and from north carolina in under 24 hours...I'm from north carolina - that's impossible unless you speed over 100 the entire way. So he doesn't show up at 8am, gets called about where he is, tells the store manager he's stuck somewhere in traffic. Shows up near noon and gets sent home.....if that was ME or anyone else....we would have been fired. BUT he not only wasn't fired...he got MORE hours next week to make up for what he lost this week. MORE HOURS. Meanwhile the poor lady i told you about gets her hours cut!!

I'm not sure what it is about work that breeds drama. and you have people who try to avoid it and get sucked in because the others think they act like they are too good to be there.....and you have people who work hard and they get hit the worst because people don't like that they work hard.

They really are horrible. They got into one of their "I love the other" phases and decided to gang up on ME because I wouldn't play their stupid games around the end of last year, so I distanced myself from both of them and they fell into another "I hate the other" phase and wanted to reconnect with me so to speak. I refused because I knew it would just start all over again, and I started getting close to one of my other cousins. Now that her and I are extremely close, one of the other two cousins are trying to "steal" her away so I won't have anybody. :roll: They are just so annoying. I'm sorry, I don't mean to make this about me. :sweat: They just get on my nerves

OMG! That guy needs to be fired! That's insane! It sounds like he needs to grow up.

That's exactly it. If the managers are lazy and slack off they aren't going to want someone who works hard to show them up. They'll do anything they can to get that person in trouble

So the lady who had her hours cut asked our manager WHY hers were and the manager responded "Everyone takes turns to make it fair" which is bullshit...considering there are people there who NEVER have to worry about their hours being cut...I can count 11 people off the top of my head who never get their hours cut.

The manager also said she wasn't hiring anyone until busy season started up again...so that means when i leave there will be more hours to go around so hopefully the lady will get some better hours for a few months once I'm gone.

That's pathetic that she just lied to her face like that. She probably feels threatened by the two of you since you both work harder than she does.

Yeah, she's really fun to be around. :) She used to be kinda bratty but it's just because of the people she hung around with. Since she's been hanging around me she's gotten a lot more mature. She's hilarious too!
