Snow - Well, I don't know if it's exciting, but it is to me: I'll be painting my room soon. My mom took me out to pick the paint on my birthday, and for the past few days I've been working on preparing my room for it. Took out everything non-essential, got everything off my walls (harder than it sounds - I had this little wall with a big taped-down collage :gonk: WHY DID YOU USE TAPE, 16 YEAR OLD ME?! WHY?!) and today I spent quite a few hours working on taking down this UGLY border at the top of the walls that came with the house. I've got about a wall and a half left, so I'm not doing too bad on that front. Once that's done, I've got to spackle over the holes in the wall, sand that down, and also sand down the other lumps in the wall (lots of paint drips... people who did this house were dumbfucks. In fact, in removing the border, I found that the wall doesn't really meet the ceiling... It's covered with a wallpaper that's under a white paint that was already on the walls that we're just going to use a primer, but in a few spots you can see the gap. Christ.), then I'll be washing the walls, then finally painting.
My room is in such chaos right now. It's loud and echo-y and bright because all my posters and stuff aren't all the walls, half my shit isn't in here, so all I can do is stare at the ugly carpet, and right now my bed is in the middle of the room because I had to pull it out to work on the border on the wall it's usually against. Luckily, I'm almost done with that section, since I have to finish it before I can go to bed tonight... I'm not sleeping in my bed where it is now.
*squirts Facade with a water bottle* Tsst!

Cherry~ Wow! That is a ton of work. @.@ It will be worth it once the paint job is done, though. What color did you pick?

I picked a nice light, cool gray. :) It'll be a great neutral. I have a love of mismatched knickknacks, so I need to keep the major parts of my room simple if I want to display all my knickknacks.
This is the precise color, but it looks a little less pretty there than in real life. It's a nice gray. :)

Given my druthers, i'd paint it red and black. But we rent.

HOWDY SAID "WE"! Another clue in The Mystery of Howdy. *monocleshake*
Snow&Biggles - Yay! I'm always afraid that when I say "gray" people are going to think "ewww, what a drab, ugly color. :gonk:"
But the end result will look cool. This one wall I'm going to dedicate into being like... practically a curio. I'm going to get a bunch of cube shelves (I have six at present), paint them all a uniform black, hang them on the wall in a "random" (but still planned out) fashion, and put my knick knacks in them. There'll also be simple black picture frames to match. The way the frames and shelves will be so uniform should keep the randomness of the knickknacks from looking like a sloppy hodgepodge.

That's basically what my house on a whole will be like (once I have one - or hell, an apartment too), but I like keeping some kind of order. I'm a huge visual-based person, and I love interior design. So I like keeping everything in some kind of a theme. I just have to make my themes loose enough that they're not so constricting that I can't put things I love into my rooms. But then that constricts me from using really constricting themes that I'd still love to have.
AND BLAST MY ACHING NECK! :gonk:

I love the color gray too! :D
Most of my clothes are gray. Or brown - another fabulous color!
...And then, my supreme favorite color, green. =3 I have a number of green clothing as well.
HOWDY, HAS MY TRUNK ARRIVED YET!? :insane: I'm on my way over to move in sometime this weekend! I'd tell you when, but I'd like to keep it a surprise! :eager:

Biggles - Sounds cool. :D My collections aren't quite so diverse yet, but I'd like for them to be. Right now I think the most interesting things I have right now are an egg cup from Scotland, and a decorative urn from the 40s or 50s. I find it interesting because the bottom has a sticker that says "Made in Japan" and nothing like this has been made in Japan since around the time we occupied them in. It's worth nothing, but I find it interesting, and it's so pretty. It was $1 at Goodwill, too, so the deal makes it sweet too.
Do you have any pictures of your stuff?
Howdy - OR A GIRLFRIEND/WIFE! (OR BOYFRIEND/HUSBAND!)
OR A FRIEND!
OR A RELATIVE!
OR OFFSPRING!
OR A HOBO!
I'm on to you, Howdy. *eyes narrow*
Facade - Ahh, lucky. I only recently stopped dressing like a little 14 year old, so my wardrobe isn't quite so nice yet. Though as far as clothing goes, I'm liking Navy. It works well on me since I'm pale-skinned and red-haired. I have this navy blazer that I adore and like wearing with the sleeves rolled up halfway. Curse the weather making it too hot to wear currently. :c
But hey, speaking of green, I'm wearing a green shirt right now! It has an anthropomorphic barbecue grill on it saying "Don't get all up in my grill."

@Face ~ Oh, was that suitcase filled with soiled Oompa Loompa G-strings your luggage? We thought someone left it on our doorstep as a cruel joke. We had the trashman haul it away.

Biggles - Oh god, here I go again having the same conversation. :gonk: I NEED A MORE INTERESTING LIFE.
Howdy - Aha! And old men wear sweater cardigans and such, not black clothing, so you are definitely perhaps maybe for sure under the age of 50!
I used to wear all black. Be glad you didn't know the all black-wearing Cherry. She was an annoying person. Ahh, to be 13 and stupid...
Er, that's not to say you're stupid and annoying because you wear black. I just mean that I was when I did and that it has no reflection upon you or my perceptions of you. >>

Okay. 90% percent of my clothes are black. I have blue denim jeans/shorts and some plaid shirts. ..> Cause i'm a lumberjack apparently.
I can be an old man who wears all black though. I'm an aging beatnik. I remember when me and Allen Ginsberg would go to Beatniks 'R' Us and buy patchouli oil.
@Facade ~ Those g-string don't fit you anyway since you got yourself knocked up.
We need to buy you some maternity clothes now that you're an unwed teenage Oompa Loompa mother.
