I didn't take the grades too seriously, and teachers were always saying how I could do better, when in my mind I always thought, "They say they know I can do better, but I've spent my life getting that speech and never actually showed I could do better. Where they gettin' their info?? xD"

TV, BOOKS, COMPUTER... we don't have to focus anywhere but near us.
Your eyes got used to that, didn't want to see other things... so docs like "Hey, you don't gotta fix it, we can just give you glasses, so your eyes never have to do any work again! We let you see far stuff!" then you take them off to see close stuff.
It's really quite cruel. Humans are mean. D:<

Glasses industry too big to realize that glasses aren't that good for us.

Just.... eyes were evolved to be at focus in the distance by default. Civilization has destroyed that and is horrible at fixing it. Our eyes never have to do any work any more. It's horrible and I'm ranting badly / repeating myself so goodnight, purple elf lady, my expert on experience with shiny eye-sheilds. :yes:
