Before I begin, let me first state that these views are mine. Whether you agree or not, keep your opinions/comments constructive.

I do not believe in the Bible, and therefore I do not believe in Genesis. It has been proven over and over again that the Earth is not a 6000 year old place that was created in so many days, and where man was the animal that preceeded everything else. I do not believe in the theory of creationism.

I do think that the Bible can be a wonderful guide to life, and that it has saved many people from horrors worse than death. But there are also many things in it that promote discord. I support love, and when people say being gay is wrong and that gay marriage is a sacrilege, I can't help but think, "Would God really keep us out of Heaven for loving for the sake of loving, instead of the basic procreative urge?" I don't think so. Heterosexual, homosexual, asexual--I believe God loves us all. After all, if He created us, He knew how we'd turn out.

As for the term "intelligent design", I think it has merit. God knows everything, and can do anything, so it's logical to conclude that He knew the situation would evolve to what it is today. I think He worked in such a way that the outcome would be as it is. He created an organism that, over so many billion years, would evolve into what we are now. He knew that some would believe the teachings of the Bible, that others would believe in the theory evolution. I don't pretend to know God, but in my heart, I believe He did this for us.

When I presented my theory to the club leader of my school's Fellowship club, she told me she would find a way to convince me otherwise. She fears for my soul, but she is horribly mistaken. I believe in God, I believe in His love for us, and the love He wants us to have for each other. I do my best to make the world better, and I try to make others smile and laugh. I do not believe I am damned, as she does, but I won't know until I meet my Maker.
