First day of the year - first blog entry!
This year definitely started better than the last one (not that it was all too hard being better than last year - fever and a burning house are hard to top on the least-favourite-beginnings scale).
No, this year really had a great beginning, much thanks to St. Pete's First Night celebration. What better way to greet the new year than enjoying community drumming circles, burning (fake) money for good luck, watching light-and-shadow shows, listening to great live music and doing all kinds of other artsy stuff.
Makes me wonder why people in my country think drinking oneself into a coma is the best way to spend New Years Eve. But then again, who cares - WE plan on returning to St. Pete every year, anyway. ;)
