The main entrance of the caves was rather large, at least two stories, maybe three. There were many entrances all over the mountains though, some hardly big enough for a small child. This was a popular entrance for the casual spelunker, an obvious reason to cause the fog and keep people out.
It was no surprise when the 'fog' cleared up just at the entrance leading inside. "Did we bring a flashlight?" Ellie asked Alex. Sometimes she failed to think ahead, but Alex rarely forgot things like that. She squinted into the darkness of the cave, wondering what or who they might find. The tractors at least, she hoped.
Inside, the caverns would split into many smaller caverns. Just where they split, there were two or three torches and some kerosene. "Do you want to split up, Alex?" she asked, figuring they could cover more ground this way.
