Raisel turned over his shoulder, recognizing the voice but unable to place it. That was, until he saw the person now standing in the doorway. Instantly, his face twisted with irritation and incredulity. "You? You've got to be kidding me?!" he snapped. The other boy stood taller than he remembered, taller than himself even, but no matter how he looked at it, the person entering the room was undoubtedly Ian McLocke, one of his least favorite people from high school. The world hated him. Groaning, Raisel dropped the stack of clothes he'd been holding into a drawer with no pomp. Instead, his full attention was on Ian.

"How did you get into a school like this anyway? Why don't you quit early and just go home? I don't want to see your face!" Harsh words. He wasn't even sure he meant them, but he'd been thrown off his game by Ian's sudden appearance. How could he survive being roommates with a nerdy brat he didn't even like? There was no way.
