Technically there are only 5 hours 15 minutes until I can start, but I have work at 7am tomorrow so I can't stay up 'til midnight to start.

I have no idea why you would need to do that. Why talk to the cashier?! I dislike all that weird small talk. One of the things I hate most about work.
Ya'll people are way in different time than me. I still have 23 hours until midnight.
But that's pretty icky, Bearzy.

I think hotels maybe a different kind of gossip... giving that you may have more chance to actually 'witness' the scene of gossip, instead of just 'talking' about it. XD

Ha! It's not really that kind of hotel. I mean, it could be, but it's mostly for like conferences and tour busses.

Nope, I think those things could happen in ANY hotels.
Heck, they could even happen in EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE. given that hotel comes with more 'comfy' setting, it should have higher chance. XD
My observation.

Probably true, but I suspect most days at a nice hotels are like most days anywhere. You do your work and daydream about something interesting happening.

I work as a Peer Specialist, where peer means someone with lived experience of mental illness... My job mostly entails talking to people.

It sure has been a long while since we last chat Kat, hope everything is well.
@numerica, I've heard of peer specialists, I think it's awesome that you're able to use your lived experience to support others.
xuvrette! I have a vague idea, of a young adult story about a girl and the three guys she meets at different stages of her life who share the same name and hair colour, purely by coincidence. The three of them come into her life, make an impression of sorts, and just as they came, they also go. Because of the coincidental similar name and hair colour, she refers to this as a curse.

Yes. Almost every day of my life if seems. Rarely in an invigorating way, though I suppose it's how you look at it. I don't dislike my job.
Ling: Everything is well, but I can't stay to chat. I have to be at work in 6 hours so I aught to get off now.

There's not a course of study, per say, although there is training. It more about having had the experience of having a mental illness.
For example, in college I studied math, even got my masters in it.
But I've struggled with Bipolar Disorder for most of my life. Although some people don't like the labeling associated with diagnosises, (sp?), so I should really say I've struggled with overwhelming emotions most of my life.

Night Kat.
The interesting thing about peer specialists is that it is the only job where it is a requirement to have lived experience of mental illness and recovery.

Bipolar disorder used to be known as Manic Depressive Disorder.
It means without the use of wellness tools and coping skills, including medication for me, but not everyone, I cycle between being extremely depressed and apathetic, to extremely energetic and euphoric. The high side wouldn't be so bad, but along with it comes extremely impulsive decision making and bad judgment.
---------- Post added 10-31-2015 at 02:33 AM ----------
I studied theoretical math. My favorite was Set Theory, but I also liked abstract algebra.

It can be... I had/have fairly long cycles, so I'd be depressed for months, spend a month being energetic but stupid, then crash back into depression for several months, then repeat.

Won't that be kinda hard to detect if it is in such long cycles?
