Ferra: was a sailor whose captain was sailing in warm waters. One day she was being punished for leaving work undone and was told to scrape barnacles off the bottom of the ship. She held her breath, plunged under water and was hacking away with her tool. Then she sensed something behind her in the water and turned and saw:


Ferra, not being a dull tack, scrambled quickly out of the water and onto deck where she told her captain what she saw:
The captain, seeing that Ferra was shaken had Suzhi Mix: draw up something to take back with them to the old world. Ferra verified that Suzhi Mix had got the creature about right, though it was hard to tell from the angle she saw it at.


Eastriel: was part of the shipping company. She got a gander at Suzhi's drawing and described it to her family as:
Lilith W: decided that sounded amazing and wanted to have something down on paper so she wouldn't forget what it looked like. She drew:


Some years later, Liztress: was going through family albums and came across this mysterious drawing. She later described it to her friend:
Her friend lunanuova: liked to draw fantastic creatures - and there was no doubt that the creature described was fantastic! So she pulled out pen and paper and got to work:



And that is how a manatee became a river otter. :3
