Is it Feb 2010 yet?

A pet peeve of mine:

When people "do you a favor" that actually ends up screwing you over. This mostly refers to transportation.
I can't drive yet, so obviously when I need to get somewhere I take the bus. And occasionally, someone will offer to give me a ride instead. It's a nice thing to do, right?
WRONG.

Because then, the individual realizes I'm not in a rush and decides to take an hour and a half actually getting me from point A to B. I may as well have just taken the bus, it would have been faster. Thanks for wasting my time having me wait around.

The moral of the story is if you can't provide said ride in a timely manner, please don't offer. I want to leave NOW, which is why I'm LEAVING, kthx.
Unfortunately, this sometimes backfires when people don't understand that a five minute car ride can be an hour long bus ride. Thus, they leave right away and I'm there forty five minutes early. :[

(By the way, February 2010 is when I can take my driver's test and get my proper license. In case you were wondering.)
