Dealing with razor burns/rash!

Dealing with razor burns/rash!

I hate when this happens! You're getting ready to go out, have a really cool night planned. Jump in she shower really quick and give your legs a shave. Then it hurts, and the water burns and you see.. the little red bumps from... you know where.

Sad to say, there is no insta-cure for these little buggers. The best way to treat them is with a little preventive medicine!

Before you shave take a little time to apply some lotion to your legs. This softens the hairs and your skin, allowing it to glide smoothly across without making those little nicks where the hair exits the pore. Make sure that your razor hasn't gone dull either, this will greatly affect the smooth-ness of your shave.

When you DO shave, go against the grain but in a single stroke. Rinse the razor under warm water and then repeat.

For now though, you can try rubbing some cortizone, just a light coat, over the areas. If you don't have any cortizone on hand you can put some ice on the spot to easy the burn, and then a warm wash cloth over the same area 5 minutes later.

If you don't like the smell of cortizone, you can use some unscented lotion. What you are essentially trying to do is ease the irritation.

Good luck, and happy shavings!;)
