The Universe Needs to Draw the Line Somewhere.

Is it so much to ask that I don't have rotten parents? My dad has been an addict of something through most of his life. My mom is a spoiled brat. My dad only calls me when something is wrong and he needs money. My mom pouts about the house when something doesn't go her way. It's a wonder that I am as functioning as I am and compared to most, that isn't much.

There is a part of me that never wants to speak to either of my parents again but I know that the Gods do not smile upon that.

I just want my parents to be better people. I don't think that is asking much. I guess the universe has to draw the line somewhere. I have great friends and one of the best boyfriends I have ever had in my life. At some point, everything needs to balance out.
