fireside chat

Posted 02-21-2017 at 07:22 PM by Dazzlingdreamberry

It was a wild and wooly night in my faire town last night. A rain storm was a brewing. Kind of windy. During the evening, lights went out briefly about 5 times. Each time, it blows all the clocks. Then around 10 p.m. Lights went out for good. Suddenly we were plunged in complete darkness. Mr x had been heating up some Progresso soup. He managed to scoop it into bowls and brought it into living room. In the darkness I managed to find the soup. I stuck my hand in it. Well, we ate by flashlight. Eating in pure darkness was strangely thrilling. The soup tasted better. By flashlight was more normal and not as fun. I use candles so Mr x lit one and put it on mantel. Amazingly, it low lit the entire room. So we had little house on the prairie talks about candles and taking advantage of daylight. Mr x has extensive experience camping. Me, never.

tom thimble, erm, thumb

Posted 02-18-2017 at 01:54 AM by Dazzlingdreamberry

Seinfeld is on, but it's too hyper for me tonight. I overate. Rats. Thought I had my binge eating under control. With the power of cashews. So I'm fading out quickly. No reading a delicious book or catching up on my emails. Just sacked out in a dark, cool room. I run a fan all night. I can think about my weekend plans. Always some kind of work.

I lost a blog here other day. Entitled, Pens Ance. My tawdry thoughts on pens. But, alas and alak, it was lost to the ether of time.

Speaking of time, the powers that be decided to retire the trusty thimble piece in monopoly. Probably, nowadays, folks don't sew much. I don't sew stuff, but I can mend and hem, and sometimes you need a thimble. They might bring it into our modern, Technicolor world by putting some color on it. Might I suggest pink?

Time for this one to go to bed. Munsters is on, but I must go. Enjoy your evening!

pencil for your thoughts

Posted 02-16-2017 at 07:42 PM by Dazzlingdreamberry

I woke up thinking about pencils. Or, a pencil. Pencils bug me. I do have a few. For emergencies. It's in my mcgyver pink fanny pack. Never know when a fan wants my autograph.

We all start out with pencils in school. That's sensible. You're learning to write. You can erase mistakes. Nothing better than the brand new pencils on first day of school. And they're traditionally yellow. Ticonderoga? The school bus is yellow. Coincidence? Which came first, the yellow pencil or yellow bus?Yellow means slow down in traffic lights. Of course ducks are yellow, too, but lets not muddy the waters. And rain boots! And slickers! Stop! This is about pencils.

I don't use pencils now, but remember them. The point wears down quickly. So you turn the pencil. The result is uneven on paper. Sharp, thin letters coalesce to flat, wide letters. How long do you keep twirling pencil? Do you go down to the nub? Or maybe you take a leisurely stroll to the pencil sharpener. You can see the whole history of your pencil usage on your paper.

#2 pencil is regular. #3 is hard and light color. #1 dark but soft. Point wears down quickly. The mechanical pencils might be better. They're thin and keep their point.

I've chewed on pencils. For fun? Just to see what it's like. Wonder if you can get lead poisoning from it. Maybe OCD? I've stuck it behind my ear.

I have stowed a pencil in my car. In case I need a writing implement and a pen goes dead.

have you seen Clyde?

Posted 02-16-2017 at 04:24 AM by Dazzlingdreamberry

I have a fig Newton for him. It's in my pocket. Have you ever noticed snacks in baggies always look the worse for wear? Squished, smeared, broken. And just go ahead and spring for a zip lock bag. Crumbs everywhere are just depressing.

You know, spring is next month. It's march 20, I believe. My folks anniversary, so I always remember. Got to see when day light savings end. Time to take down tree then.

So, tonight Mr x was in living room and started making suspicious, clicking noises. What are you doing, I knowingly asked. Cutting my toenails. Out, out! I screeched! Go to the bathroom or outside. Was he raised in a barn?! He wasn't. He also is not allowed to drink out of the milk carton. Sometimes I have found him brushing his teeth in the kitchen sink. # just falls back in a dramatically, pink faint

I'm reading a bunch of books on different devices. One with Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock's bro. That one is ok. I've read it before, but when it comes to books, my mind is a sieve. Another book is set in the future. Revolutionaries have driven out the royal family. They're in Florida. Plans are afoot to break into abandoned Windsor castle. Book is not very good. Characters are not likeable, dumb. Yet I muddle thru. Downloading books use data, and I'm pert near out. Pert. Pert shampoo. What does that mean? Dippity do. Now That's a name. You dip your fingers in. It makes sense.

valentines day

Posted 02-14-2017 at 04:14 AM by Dazzlingdreamberry

Is tomorrow, but not in Pakistan, I just read. They see it as American holiday. They say it promotes nudity? Well, that's just Victoria's secret getting in on the opportunity. Otherwise, it's probably just ventures like red balloons and heart shaped candy.

With the net you have opportunity to meet others worldwide. I have pals in different countries. We're very polite, culturally and politically speaking. I certainly don't bring up politics. I have a pal I call lil bro. I think he's in Iran. When USA killed one of his leaders, who was enemy to us, he put up condolence message to him. One of my pals here is from India. He tells me of the various festivals.
