He also has a bit of a competitive streak and so involves himself in sports for fun and enjoys whatever physical competitions come around. He often speaks without thinking, but he isn't too stubborn to apologize for it if he realizes his mistake as he values his friends above his pride.

Galen grew up as the only child of a healer and a blacksmith. He attended Trinity Academy to hone his magic skills and upon graduation entered into the military service with the intent of joining a unit that focused on fighting dark creatures such as vampires and demons. His mother was saddened by this decision and worried for his safety. She knew he wanted to be a guard, but had hoped he'd be in a safer position such as palace guard or something. His father, however, was so proud of his son that he crafted him a fine sword to use.

As a boy, he had grown up alongside a neighbor girl he called "Ani." The two were best buddies and he was like another protective big brother to her. He had the tendency to get her into trouble by talking her along on his pranks or sneaking her out of her house at night to go stargazing together. As they grew older and began attending school, Ani's cousin began staying with her during the school year because her parents were farmers out in the countryside. It was much easier to stay with Ani than to try to get a dorm room. This cousin was named Ellerina, or "Ellie" for short, and it wasn't long before the pair had become a trio.

This was all well and good until they started nearing adulthood. At that point, Ellie began to look much different to Galen. He loved the way she smiled, her spunky spirit, her laughter, and her usually easy-going nature. The fact that she grew into a pair of long shapely legs didn't hurt one bit either. Needless to say, Galen was smitten. However, he was well aware of his tendency to mess things up by sticking his foot in his mouth, and confessing his feelings was one thing he really did not want to screw up. So, he took his time and tried to come up with the perfect fool-proof plan for asking Ellie out on a date. But the days passed by and then so did the years, and the usually brave and cocky fellow just kept chickening out.

After graduation, they decided to celebrate by going out with a whole group of friends to have a fun camp out in the forest. The first couple of days were great. There was singing and food and drinking, lots of general celebration for young adults. Unfortunately, it ended on a tragic note when one night a pair of feral vampires decided to attack the sleeping elves. This was the sort of thing that Galen had been training his magic for, but he was not well trained in fighting techniques yet. While they were eventually able to drive the monsters off as a group, it was all too late as they had lost one of their own, his best buddy, Ani.

Distraught and crushed at his failure to protect someone who was so dear to him, Galen initially shut down while he was mourning his loss. However, he is not one to take things lying down for long, and so he used it as motivation to really throw himself into training with the military. During this time he had shut everything else out other than this deep, driving desire to never fail his loved ones again. However, this led to him losing touch with some of those friends and loved ones, including Ellie.

Over the years, Galen grew in his fighting ability and learned a lot of valuable lessons. While he does have a general distaste for dark creatures, he has encountered a few that have left him with questions. Now he is to the point where he'll only slay those who have proven to be a threat and leaves the peaceful ones alone unless ordered to do otherwise.

When the capital was attacked and became a magical fallout wasteland, he managed to escape to Ambrose with his parents. The immense loss of life once more reminded him of how fragile life is, and so he decided he should not wait any longer when it came to certain things. Being snapped out like that, he decided to track down Ellie and finally make things right and confess his feelings to her, but the confusion following the attack and the various wars that followed after made that impossible at the time. Frustrated, he eventually gave up and decided to accept the fact that she must have been among the many uncounted casualties.

After the capital was rebuilt, his family moved back to where their home had been for so long, and Galen transferred to be a part of the city guard there. He usually worked night shifts, and continues to do so, as his magic makes him most valuable at the time when the sun is down and the dark creatures come out to play. Eventually, he got noticed by General Ace, and she pulled him aside to talk to him about going on the occasional mission for her, so while he still works regularly for the captain of the guard, she now has priority over him when needed.

And then one day while he was taking a nap under a shady tree in the city park, he found himself being awoken by quite the surprise, a girl claiming to be his granddaughter. Well, now, he initially thought that was impossible as he hadn't even been with a woman yet. However, they were eventually able to straighten things out, and it seemed that she had come through a portal at the wrong time and she was from the future and indeed his granddaughter. He has taken her under wing and assured her that he'll provide whatever she might need, although she is staying in a dormitory instead of living with him as she studies at Trinity Academy. He has since taken her to visit with his parents who decided it would be best for all involved if they were to adopt her as their own daughter. Isilme was not too sure about this, but Galen thought it'd help clear up confusion a lot that way, not to mention all of the social awkwardness that was coming along with being a grandfather at his age. And so, it ends up on down the road that Isilme is her own great-aunt that she was named after, funnily enough.

Not quite thinking of what repercussions it might possibly have, his curiosity overcame him and so he asked her who her grandmother was. And so it was that Galen received confirmation that the spunky, long-legged Ellerina was still alive out there somewhere in the world. Added to his goals once more was the aim to track her down and pay her a visit... without coming across as some sort of creepy stalker.

Despite being a touch creepy, she is actually rather beautiful. Normally she wears some sort of coat with a hood while she is out, but underneath wears a military uniform in black, gray, and red, with a skirt or pants.

[B]Personality:[/B] She is generally cold/stoic, having great amount of control over her emotions, or possibly lacking them a bit. She has a hidden temper that comes out when greatly provoked. She is very stubborn and independent, and while she normally doesn't get hung up on formalities, she does demand respect from her men. She also has a possessive streak even though she generally views relationships not worth the time and effort.
Personality Flaws: Faith is stubborn and aloof and generally does not seek any sort of companionship. She also can be very sarcastic and even insulting and enjoys skewing the truth a bit just to mess with people.

Laura's family was torn apart when her brother, Ben, joined a cult that spoke to dead people. He was convinced that he was supposed to purge the world, and to prove his loyalty he was going to start by killing his own family. Her family split up and began wandering around, figuring they'd be safer as individuals than together. She has changed her name several times to avoid detection, sometimes going by male names like Seth or George. She was living in a small village that she had been in for almost a year, working as a dancer/entertainer at the town's small playhouse when she became friends with a guy named Ziek, who helped her get her job back after her position was cut.

Fearing that she'd be found by her brother because of staying in the town for too long, she left it and Ziek left with her. They lived for a few months together in an apartment in a large, technologically advanced city. Ziek trained her how to fight, specifically on how to use a katana, so that she doesn't have to run anymore. Together they went and found her mother and sister and brought them back to the city with them, her father's whereabouts were still unknown at the time.

A couple months later, she was murdered while out doing some shopping in the city, and her body was found by Frank Horrigan, the leader of the Enclave. He brought her back to life as a dark matter vampire, giving her the position of second in command and a place to stay on board the Icarus. At first she resented this, feeling too much under Frank's control, but soon took it as a great opportunity to be able to watch over her family without putting them in further danger. She tends to watch over her younger sister, Josie, from the shadows, and move her from danger whenever it gets too close. The fact that Laura is still alive, however, still remained a secret, as she changed her name yet again, this time to mimic Frank's.

For awhile, her fiery personality was at war with the calm, cold darkness that was slowly taking her over. This led to a lot of violence on her part, and some of the men still fear her for it even though she has much calmed down since then, the darkness finally winning over. She still insists, however, that being dark does not necessarily make her evil and she hates when others make that assumption.

She has been using what resources are available to her at the Enclave for a personal project on the side, tracking down her brother and her missing father. She eventually found the body of her father, and later on that of her mother as well, both buried in a ritualistic manner. Blaming her brother for this, of course, she has vowed to keep searching for him and make him pay.

She tends to wear things that would normally be considered punk or goth in nature instead of taking on more traditional clothing and she loves tall boots.

[B]Personality:[/B] She is a very curious person, loving to learn about new things and especially about how things work. She is friendly and outgoing, tending to accept everyone with open arms. She is very set on what she likes and is highly resistant to peer pressure, figuring that any friend worth having will accept her exactly the way she is already. She also has a creative side that mostly comes out through her music, although occasionally through writing and making things as well.

Darcie grew up in Avelane but recently moved to Xenshi with her family. Her father is a merchant who used to travel a lot in search of new things, even inter-dimensionally, which is how he met her mother, a deaf Xenshinese woman. Upon hearing that the new city had many openings for housing and businesses, her father jumped at the chance and her mother welcomed the opportunity to be with her own people again. Darcie herself has been adjusting well so far, treating the whole thing as just one big adventure, and enjoys playing in the local inn for fun. She has more recently started tutoring some children in English as well.

Unable to fully give up some more modern things that she has run across through the years, she has taken advantage of some of the technology offered to Xenshi by the Enclave, mainly being a solar panel, a satellite, and a laptop, all so that she can use the internet. Her father approved of this purchase hoping that it would help Darcie continue her education. She has used it for such, but also for fun: downloading music and venturing into chat rooms. One of the chats she frequents is a role play chat in which she plays a flirtatious elf, and through that chat she got to know another role player, Itachi Uchiha, who had stumbled upon the chat during his stay at Erufu.

Itachi requested permission to visit Xenshi as an ambassador and spent a lot of time with Darcie while he was there. Their friendship deepened into other feelings over time. Darcie loves that he accepts her how she is, which she has been struggling with getting in Xenshi. She normally doesn't let it bother her and refuses to change for others, but she knew that none of the few men around paid her much attention, preferring the more traditional girls. She also loves how shy she can make the ninja be despite his normal toughness, and finds it quite cute. She has been to Konoha a few times to visit him as well.

Eventually he took up a permanent ambassador post in Xenshi and took up one of the homes there. Darcie loves having him nearby and visits with him almost daily, though she still worries about him whenever he gets sent on missions by Konoha even if it is not as often now.

The two eventually got married and then moved to Erufu so that they could attend university level classes at Trinity Academy.

Since Josie is Faith's younger sister, she had the same family troubles. Since she was too young to go out on her own at the time that her brother turned on them, she stayed with her mother and the two of them traveled together. This is how she didn't develop the same independence as her sister, but still can be paranoid about strangers at times.

Five years ago, she was reunited with her sister and they lived together until Laura was murdered. At this, her mother decided that it was too dangerous for them to stay together and that she was finally old enough to take care of herself. She stayed in Kaymakli City for awhile, though she had trouble finding work. However, during that time she had some sort of mysterious benefactor who payed her rent so that at least she had a roof over her head, and occasionally when there was trouble, she would blank out and wake up somewhere safe. She decided that perhaps there are such things as guardian angels, or that maybe her sister was watching over her from the afterlife.

One of the last places she was dropped was Ambrose, where she met a handsome young palace guard, an elf named Orym. After some mix-ups involving a mysterious pet rabbit and some promises for dinner, she ended up moving in with Orym. He eventually proposed to her, but she was hesitant to accept for various reasons.

She was then reunited with her sister a second time, quite surprised at her return from the dead, which was never explained to her. Laura was able to convince Josie of her true feelings for Orym, Laura's motives being that she wanted Orym always to be around to protect her little sister. Josie approached Orym after this and agreed to marry him, and the two worked together to change her name legally to Bein Herves, a name of his choosing, in order to protect her identity as she was afraid that getting married would get her killed, the way it did her sister.

The happy couple began planning a wedding, and after some time finally tied the knot. Her sister gave them an all-expense paid honeymoon in Xenshi, figuring they would like the different culture and that it would be a safe place to hide out after such a big event as a wedding.

Upon their return, they moved back into his apartment in Ambrose, and while things were happy for awhile, it was not to last. Tragedy struck, though it wasn't Bein's life it claimed, as predicted. It was the dreaded curse of the Orym family that caught up to her new husband. He was on night patrol when a roof shingle fell on him and injured his shoulder. Suddenly unable to use his fighting arm, he was caught off-guard and defenseless when a necromancer jumped him and dragged him off to the woods to sacrifice him in some dark ritual. Poor Orym.

Completely heartbroken at the loss of her husband, Bein is trying to survive without him. She receives some benefits from her late-husband's life insurance but took up a job as a part-time waitress to occupy some of her time.

She does not have a taste for violence, preferring diplomacy and hating to kill. She can also be very girly. She does lose her patience sometimes and doesn't like being told she's too young. Also, as she is a dragon, she has a love for treasure, especially artwork. This does not make her overly materialistic, though, as she still places people over things.

Amelie comes from a noble family of gold dragons. She spent her whole life at her family's lair, and enjoys being a bit spoiled. She enjoys painting and reading and playing the piano. She was very close to her brother, and when he left a few years ago, she went looking for him.

She eventually found him and followed him around on some adventures for a few years. Unfortunately, tragedy struck, and her brother was killed by an idiot adventurer who thought that all dragons were automatically evil. It was a hard blow to her as they were so close, but she tries her best to hide it and continue to hold her head high despite how much she misses him.

She grieved for an appropriate amount of time, but instead of moving back home to be with her parents again, she took up residence in Avelane. She decided that she enjoyed her freedom and socializing with all the shiny paladins, and being an adult, it was entirely her choice. Occasionally she plays piano at the theater or the inn and also takes commissions for paintings, as she doesn't want to always rely on her parents for money.
