[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][color=deeppink]Alright, I knew this was here somewhere, but I didn't know for sure where. I found the blog section! So I hereby declare that I do indeed have a blog here! Bwahahaha!!!... er... I mean... Huzzah!

For my own future reference, I'll see about updating this blog on a fairly regular basis. Hopefully I'll have more good news than bad, but stuff happens, so there are no guarantees. I can only hope for better treatment than I received from my LJ, which I almost never update anyway because no one reads it.

As a dedicated Gaian since December of '03 (and no meanness about Gaia, anyone reading, I still love it) I was pretty hesitant when Cricket first talked about moving. That was my place, it's where I was already established, and I had pretty much gotten things about the way I like them. It wasn't perfect, of course, but I wasn't lacking for many things I wanted, and on the whole, life was quite good. It still is, aside from the person who's been trying to repeatedly log into my account lately (I'm hoping they give up, because I have a super-great secure password) and for the most part I'm still content there.

There's just the one thing... All my roleplay seems to have fizzled there. A scary amount of people with startlingly low intelligence and terrible tempers has been hindering my enjoyment on occasion. I'm not quite as troubled as some, mind you, because I don't mind sifting through the dirt to find the diamonds. That's the way life is, especially in the search for jobs, good men, and friends that you can count on. So one more treasure hunt in life is no surprise.

Anyway, I'll cut to the chase... A couple of RPs I was in had been going well, but fizzled because persons involved became disheartened by the frequent harassment because of a lengthy list of rules (why it was any of their business how many rules there were I will never know, and personally feel they have no right to complain when they aren't in the game int he first place, but I'll try to avoid getting on my soap box this morning) and the proprietor and one of the few remaining players other than myself decided to flee to find greener pastures. A sad story indeed.

I remained in my cozy Gaia nest, afraid to venture out and risk having to start all over in a new place where I knew no one, simply for a roleplay. I've had roleplays that dissolved before, and it's always disappointing, but I have to say this situation was unique.

So there on Gaia I remained, and still do, but I kept hearing from my friend (proprietor of the RPs) how lovely this place was. I had been encouraged before to join one of the others, and a minor tiff had ensued because I remained firmly rooted and unwilling to move for reasons mentioned above. Urging did not take place for Menewsha, and I'm glad. I'm the stubborn type and the more I have something pushed on me, the more I fight it.

Anyway, recently we more or less reconnected, and I decided to give it a go. So far things seem quite happy here, and it will be interesting to watch the site grow. I'm still a happy Gaian, but now I have a new place to play and enjoy myself, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Menewsha has in store for me.[/color]

P.S. - Yes I know it's lengthy, but some future additions may not be so much, though I do tend to be a bit on the wordy side when I just sit down and speak my mind... *grin*[/FONT]

I watched it on Starz, because I had heard about it and the fact that it got 8% on the tomato-meter made me want to see what all the fuss was about.


It was dreadful. Like, on the level of The Ring.

The only thing that kept me watching was the very gruesome bit at the beginning. I have a strong stomach, but watching limbs get amputated was a bit much. O___O;;
Unfortunately, Lindsay's screaming sounded more like she was having an orgasm than yelling out in pain.


After that, it was a mess of what can barely be called a plot. I think it was supposed to be mysterious and keep us guessing. Unfortunately, it was just a jumbled mess with way too much nuance symbolism.

Not to mention, Lindsay's acting was more than abysmal and the ending scene made me simultaneously roll my eyes and laugh out loud.



It's not often that I see a movie so bad I actually want to blog about it.


But this one makes the cut.
