[CENTER][SIZE=2][COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]You know, California lifted the ban on gay marriages today, and I still feel as though there is a giant misconception about what classifies a marriage and who should be allowed to participate in them. As a gay rights activist myself, I have seen several cases of discrimination against gay marriage that all start out the same way, or contain the same basic argument, oftentimes relating back to religious practices and personal biases that people choose to have because of how they were raised to think; to feel how they do because they are not aware of what its like to be discriminated against as an outcast or be considered "socially unacceptable" by millions across the world. What defines marriage as a common union between a man and a woman? What says that this is the only way to go about marriage? Why is religion so prevalent in the debate over whether or not gay marriages should be allowed? Why do people choose to let their religions rule their lives, when their religions were created thousands of years ago by people who were so unwilling to change in their ways that they had to sit there and pick on those who were different, who they feared would ruin their ways and change a social structure that they were comfortable with? Use the religion excuses all you want in your debate as to why gays should not be allowed to marry, however know that it shows your arrogance and inability to change and be accepting of something as simple as two people choosing to marry each other because they love each other.

And the next time you think about why God created Adam and Eve instead of Adam and Steve, ask yourself why God allowed for the creation of the homosexual orientation. If God is so powerful and almighty, and if it is told to you in the bible by His followers that it is wrong to be gay, then why would he allow people to be gay in the first place? I mean really, don't bring up your one-sided, narrow minded opinions on subjects because of your religion if you don't look at the logic behind it.

The lift on the ban of gay marriages in California is the first step in changing the thought process of people all over the world, hopefully inspiring change in these people, giving them the ability to think outside of their own boxes and learn to be more accepting of others, whether it be accepting of gender, or race, or sexuality, or whatever. I'm not saying that just because a ban is lifted, people all over the world are going to up and change their beliefs or whatnot, but I feel that this will show that people are willing to move on and seek a change.

This blog is not meant to change your mind or to influence you in any way into deciding whether or not gay marriage should be allowed, but to let you know that at this point in time, people are becoming more and more comfortable with the orientation of others, and how what is socially acceptable now is not what will be socially acceptable tomorrow because one person will make a difference in altering the mores of society that we live by today for the future. I hope to God (and that's ironic because I'm not religious) that in time, people will be more considering to others and ask themselves how this idea is hurting them and the people around them.

Gay marriage is not a crime, nor is being gay a sin. We should all move on and just be more accepting - it would save a lot of trouble in the end.

Class this morning, then out with Margie back to high school. We signed up for transcripts and we'll get them tomorrow and talk to the counselors. We visited some teachers. Though we found out our favorite teacher doesn't work there anymore. D:

We went to Best Buy and I bought a few movies and a ps2 game: Bully. xD I always wanted to get it and since I was in game mode, I decided why not. I got a new copy of P&P since a friend of mine jacked my copy a couple years ago and never returned it. And then I bought two movies on sale I'd been meaning to get.

Came home, played the game instead of studying for final, but then when I got to Mytho class, I think I actually did rather well! There was only a couple questions I didn't figure out.
Who calculated the sins[orwhatever] of the gods? And T/F Phineus told Jocasta about the prophecy.
I put down Apollo for the first, though I'm pretty sure that's wrong, and False to the second.

Now I've got an essay to write.

So tomorrow after turning in my rough draft and watching a movie in english, we're going to go pick up transcripts and talk to the counselors at college so we can get into chem 200. Then H&K [if it's still playing], and home to relax, take socio test, and site events.
Saturday I have work, and Sunday I'll be doing shit to study for Anthro final. I've got work Monday and Tuesday. At least I don't have Anthro on Wednesday so I can study for my Stat final. Next Thursday's pretty chill with no stress classes and Next Friday I've got to turn in my final essay and do an in class essay on a book I've still yet to read. @[email protected]; But supposedly one of the possible questions for the prompt will be about comparing and contrasting the movie to the book since they're both dystopias. So that means it'll probably be easier and I don't have to include so much information about the book. I really do want to read the book once I have time this summer though since it seems interesting. I just hope it's "open book" for the essay so if I have to write quotes, I can actually LOOK THEM UP. Ugh, it pissed me off last time I did an in class essay [even though I got an A --funny since I get C's on all the other ones], that I wrote something about imaginative play important for children and she asked me to cite it. WTF. On an in class essay? I didn't even know what the prompt would be you stupid bitch. How the hell was I going to know that I would even USE that example?
Anyways, I should stop ranting about my English "instructor" [she doesn't even have her fucking degree how pathetic is that]...because I seriously could go on and on and on writing a ten page essay. It's a good thing we didn't have an independent "write whatever you want" essay for this many pages or I would have done it on her. It would have been awesome too, but of course I'd get an F. xD

[CENTER][SIZE=2][COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]I just signed my friend's yearbook because she left it with me so that I could sign it tonight so that I wouldn't take all of first hour tomorrow to do so right, and I took up four pages of her yearbook haha. I literally wrote her a letter chronicling everything important from the time we first met until now, and then thinking about the future and such. I hope she's not mad at me whenever she goes to read it tomorrow (and I hope she doesn't cry when she reads it).

I wonder how long it will take her to respond to that, and to sign my yearbook. Somehow, I don't think her reply will be the same length. She's not a big writer like I am haha, and the fact that I wrote a letter in big sharpie that took up four pages in my smallest handwriting doesn't help the fact that it could have been longer on my part haha.

School is over tomorrow. No more classes until college : (
