| teen scene | teen scene Well, it's a warm evening inside. Outside its chilly. Soup du jour was mushroom. There's a Thai salad waiting in the fridge. I'm kind of off my feed tho. Andy Griffith show is on. I googled aunt bee. Andy s matronly, grey haired aunt. Fell off my chair again. She was attractive! She was trim, dark haired, makeup wearing 20s girl. Wow!
So, the new book. It's about high school life. The boy is 17, but he's acting 13. It talks of all the posturing. The hierarchy. He has a best pal. A 3rd friend enters the picture. She's just been diagnosed with terminal leukemia. I'm hoping the book will shape up and wonderful lessons are learned and experienced. Right now the asinine behavior is hard to take. And I can certainly relate to the high school experience, as every graduate can. Of course, your memories differ by your experience. Freshman year was a disappointment, and it went steadily downhill by my senior year. I remember saying to folks I would do something drastic if I didn't get a tv for graduation. I did. What a brat I was. But I was very unhappy. Nothing at all like the pink hued vision of delight you see now. So I got the tv. Your lifes desire is a tv set? Anyway, I understand dysfunctional. The outlier. I was a nerdy student. Brainy in English and office business. Horrible in the sciences or math. A gymnast? Haha. I could never do a cartwheel. Tip me upside down and my GPS brain shorts out. I used to practice gymnastic moves in the living room, my dad spotting me. I don't even remember the name of the moves. But you go down to the floor with your hands and flip yourself over. My dad liked yoga moves and you could often find him doing a head stand against the door. I tried it too. Oh, my dad was a body builder so there were always barbells lying around. Long bars. And I have a great pic of him around 20. He took a studio pic holding a sword or something. Haven't seen it recently. Later we bonded over running. He and my bro did music. Well, this was an unexpected trip down memory lane. It's fun! Just start writing about your day. It makes for interesting reading and is quite cathartic.
Had the salad. Not that good. I wanted rice noodles, but Mr x brought back pasta ones. So salad was heavier. But, it was ok. Filled the pie hole.
Anyway, I'm reading the book. And it's getting better. The boy is kind of a wise acre. His mother forced him to visit the girl and cheer her up. And it's working! She's cracking up. Now his guy friend hasn't met the girl yet. I'm hoping all 3 will be best friends. The boys have been best pals since they were 10. But they're so sexually mature for 17. Now I had my fair share of unrequited love. It wasn't until I was at university and reading Harlequin novels that I discovered what real love was like. And I was astounded to realize that all through my school years I had never daydreamed a crush nude. Truly never. I also barely had a date so believe me it's true. Nerdy student, remember? | | Comments | | Total Comments Comments | No comments have been made yet |
