[COLOR="black"][B][CENTER][SIZE="1"]This will be my online blog where I can rant about pretty much anything. I won't be naming names, this is simply a place where I can lay out all of my thoughts and at the same time have an audience reading it. It should be pretty fun, at least I hope that people find it entertaining.

Summer Sickness!

Summer Sickness!

Posted 07-21-2008 at 01:58 AM by Korrye
[COLOR="Gray"][B][CENTER][SIZE="1"]When I was younger I used to always get sick around the Christmas Holidays. I missed four school concerts when I was in elementary school because I was always sick. But that was when I was younger. After moving across the country and gaining a few years I do my best to avoid getting sick during the school year. In high school it's not really smart to miss more than a few days. In the summers lately, I always get that major sickness. Last year, a week before my birthday, I caught pneumonia which apparently isn't a weird thing. People can catch a chill and get sick just as often as you would in the winter. This year it's a bit different and believe it or not it's all linked to air conditioning.

Because it's so hot and humid in the summer time, all houses in my area are built with air conditioning and as much insolation as possible. In about mid June the neighbourhood's machines start buzzing and stores and small turn into refridgerators. The dry cold air is always welcome but on the bad side I get nose bleeds all of the time from it. My nose gets so dried out inside that whatever is in there scabs. They I blow my nose and voilà, instint nose bleed. Luckily they're never big. One kleenex and I'm done and dealt with.

So lately that's what I've been dealing with. Minor nose bleeds, dry mouth and dehydration if I'm forgetting to keep a bottle of water at my side. I thought that it would stay that way but this morning I had a rude awakening. I went to stretch out my legs and I had this sickening leg cramp in the backside of my right leg. It was so back that I literally cried out. So my mom ushers herself over and I'm half asleep and freaking out because my leg hurts so much! Getting small cramps when you wake up are something that you deal with but this was incredibly painful. So I stood up and put my weight on it, dried my eyes and took an advil. I thought that it would go away as the day went on but it hasn't. So after a run into my hot tub, heat rub, icepack and then heating pad it's still not any better. At least, I can say, it's not excruciating. The cold of the air conditioning probably didn't help it but I was on my feet all day and definitely not drinking enough water.

So there's my speel. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this kind of thing. Tell me your remedies in a comment!
