I'm talking about sears. Is there one near you? It used to be the bedrock of the suburban mall. But it's dying. Malls, in general, aren't doing so well. I rarely go. Occasionally, a restaurant piques my interest. But department stores? Even Macy's is floundering.

Read up on sears. Founded in 1886. The founder started out by reselling watches. It grew to a mammoth degree. But, it's hard to control.

Latest article shows a death spiral. They're cutting losses, shutting stores. I had forgotten they were connected with discover card.

Anyway, they were famous for their wish book. Came at Xmas. Lots of toys, gifts. They had seasonal big books. I loved the shoe section. My mom took me dress shopping there. They had the cheapest dressing rooms! My dad worked for sears as mechanic. He had a jump suit with the sears logo.

They had a picture show of a recent store. It was terrible. Sears was great. Lots of memories. They had these escalators that had this plastic piece midway that someone would drop a coin in. Would drive me crazy seeing it and not being able to get it!

Remember this day. It's the day Susan Olsen, aka Cindy Brady, kissed her job and her reputation goodbye.

Now, I am one of the shows ardent fans. That's the quintessential, American family. I've seen every episode. It's on retro now, and I always keep it on.

So, Cindy/Susan, ok I get a lil confused. Long after the show was over, they were still the bradys. They look, reasonably, the same. Mrs. Brady just past. She had been at Marcia/Maureen's dance show a few days before. See, still the mom.

But then today Cindy goes on this vile, horrific rant. I wouldn't have thought I'd ever hear those words from her.

She shamed her parents, the Bradys, the Brady dad particularly. America.

She's tainted the legacy of the show. What, universal adoration wasn't enough for you?

Things change, with time. But this didn't need to happen. Does she deserve another chance? Everyone messes up sometime, don't they? Don't parents forgive endlessly their children's indiscretions?

Ok, Cindy. You apologize and never do it again. Make reparation. I'll give you a pass this time.

Been reading about him, looking at the pics. Boy, his kids resemble them. Quintessential, American hero. He wanted to be prez. Did become senator.

Great article how his wife persevered, then overcame, her disability. A severe case of stuttering. Where she basically couldn't talk to people. Yet, at 53, she entered a 3 week intensive therapy... And emerged talking! Later she would give speeches stumping for Glenn.

Sure looks picture perfect. I hope it was!

Hullo. What's up? How was your day? Kind of rainy here. Heard Portland lost power. I'm intrigued about Oregon. Want to check out portlandia, the movie.

I'm having a cookie problem. I eat too many. Not good, having Ch. Then I asked Mr x to pick up some cinnamon rolls. They aren't super sweet, tho. More like a sweet bread, maybe? I still bike 30 min a day.

Anyway, soon it's new years, and all of the good resolutions. Mine will be to eat more veggies.

Mr x is snooping around my stuff. I don't like it. I don't snoop in his stuff. I've got his gifts in my closet.

Well, it's a rainy, cold day here. Yet I could use an ice cream. However, we have none. Guess I could have strawberry milk and pretend? Had a micro chicken Alfredo. Eh. Too cheesy.

Been reading blogs here. Most are so old. Like 8 years. I like the garden variety, day to day, Seinfeld kind of blog. Guess I'll go read some mags now. Xmas lights are on tree. Very pretty. Like candy sprinkles:)
