We own a treadmill, and yesterday, after looking disapprovingly at my flabby tummy I decided to give it a go.
I got changed into trainers ("sneakers" to all you yanks), shorts, top, fetched my water bottle and my iPod with its speakers. I also tied up my hair and put on one of those big stretchy hair bands to stop it falling into my eyes.
No mistake, our garage kinda freaks me out. :XP
It's cold and creepy. >.> But I braved the terrifying abyss and hopped on the treadmill.
It was like "Exercise For Idiots". I selected a "calorie countdown" and tapped in 200kcal. Then I turned on my iPod and pressed the picture of the little person jogging. So I jogged. After 20 minutes I'd burned the 200kcal (and was pretty puffed from all that jogging)....
... but the reccomended daily exercise is 30 minutes, so I walked for 3 more minutes and then jogged for 7 minutes. It was kinda off putting when the large hairband fell off and was whizzed onto the floor after 25 minutes, and hair started falling into my eyes, but I managed to ignore it.
Near the end I could see a bright light and thought I wouldn't make it - I haven't exercised in months - but, huzzah, I did.
And I felt pretty chuffed about it too.
I hope you lot don't mind if I record my exercising achievements here - I'd like to try the treadmill again today.
