: (

I'm feeling a little guilt tripped right now. One of my friends is having a personal crisis at home with her dog who is the most adorable white pit bull ever. Daisy is 13, and she had to be taken to the ER last night because she was walking in circles if you could call it walking and the doctors think she might have a lesion in her brain. And she asked me to stay and look after her tomorrow until she gets home at five, but that I would have to call off work for that. Which I would be fine with if my manager weren't threatening to fire me anyways because I've missed a day already. And now I feel conflicted because I don't need to be losing my job, yet I don't want to leave Daisy all alone : ( And then I have to watch her on friday as well, but I've had plans for friday for like a month and a half and I don't want to cancel them just because of Daisy, but it would make me feel bad. Especially to think that it would make me seem like I care more about my own life than the happiness of my friend.

Could you see if she has any other friends or family who would be willing to sit with her dog? Maybe she just came to you first. She would probably understand both situations if you explained them to her and made it absolutely clear that you felt bad over it and that it wasn't because you didn't want to do it.

I am sure that you are so torn about this, I myself would be really hard pressed as to what I should do if I were in your shoes. The bottom line is though that if she feels her dog needs to be watched, why isn't she taking off work? If it were my dog, I would be the one taking work off. Thats just how I am and its not to throw up excuses, your not the dogs owner.

Well the thing is that I'm her usual dog-sitter anyways, and I always watch her. Her dog takes forever to feel safe with anyone else while she's gone.

And she would take off work, but the problem is that she's the manager at her job, and she's called off too much as it is anyways.
