I found a cavity : (

I found a cavity : (

I found a cavity when I was brushing my teeth tonight. I thought I took good care of my teeth, and all of a sudden, there's this cavity. And its in the front of my mouth, in the small front bottom teeth. I mean, I know I have an old filling that fell out about a year ago and I haven't been able to get to a dentist to get it filled, but now I have another cavity! omg, my poor mouth : (

I don't know whats wrong either, because I don't drink soda so there's no crazy acid/sugar coming in my mouth all the time. I don't eat that much candy/sweets. I brush three times a day. Ugh. This is lame.

And, on top of that, my gums have been bleeding as of late when I brush my teeth. My mouth hates me right now DX

I need to make an appointment soon. I'll see if my mom can't call in tomorrow or something.

Wow. I barely brush my teeth, eat tons of candy and soda, and never floss, but I've never had a cavity. Maybe its because I eat lots of apples?

o_o Hmm.. Maybe there's some kinda of genetic reason? :/

Well genetics can play a roll in how strong or soft your teeth are. The softer the teeth the more likely you are to get cavities.. or for them to chip. Sometimes, even if you take good care of your teeth, if a filling falls out then there's exposed tooth that food or plaque can get into, and that's very hard to get out because the filling was plugging up a hole in your tooth...

Also.. there is the possibility of brushing your teeth too much, or too hard, which might explain why your gums are bleeding.. Erm... =3; Yay random knowledge? I'm pretty obsessed with taking good care of my teeth and I've had friends try to convince me that I could brush off my enamel, which protects your teeth... I haven't found any conclusive research on that though...
