Over all I find this avatar is definately within my tastes. Its bright and cheerful and spunky. I do not find the balance to be particularly spot (there is not enough white by the feet, and the less tealy blue is all in the middle) on but then this is something that doesn't seem particularly important in the "New Wave".

It gives off a very summery vibe which in turn makes the scarf look strange in the whole theme of things...it doesn't really seem to fit much in my mind.

Overall I say I'd give this avi a 7.5/10.

This avatar makes me smile when I see it. :D I nominated this outfit for User's Pick for several reasons, so I'm glad I got to crit this particular avatar for judging. First of all, the colors really appeal to me. It was the first thing I noticed when I saw this avatar. It's just lovely! It's got a great mix of cool colors with the blues and aquas, and the yellow gives it a little punch -- like a ray of sunshine! XD I think I would have liked to see some gloves of some sort though... I feel like a bit more white in that area would have been good. The feet could also use some white, but keeping with the simplicity of the avatar, I'm okay with there not being white at the bottom. The head also seems to be missing something, but with the limited amount of head items available to us, I think you did a pretty good job. I also like that this is a more 'casual' outfit -- I don't think you went overboard. Good restraint. Fabulous use of layers too.

8/10, because I think there could be a few changes and it'd be even better. :D I think I would have done the sun from the Weather Forecast, and switched the hairpin to the Chilled Beauty pin. And I probably would have added anklewings too... but yeah, I ramble.

I think I've got a pretty solid sense of style, and have a firm grasp of the concepts of balance, color and theme in an avatar. Since I've participated in Project Mene, I know what to expect as a judge, and I think I give helpful/thoughtful critiques. I'm not really terribly scathing, but if I don't like an avatar, I'll make it known.

I'm also probably going to be pretty anal about judging quickly and efficiently so that people don't have to wait a long time for scores. That was something that put me on edge in the cycle I participated in, so I want to be sure I don't stress the contestants out like that.

I've also won Project Mene... so there's that... >.> <.< XD

Thanks for considering me!

I like what you have but I think you have too much bright blue, it over powers the other colors that you have. I wish that you had incorporated more Yellow and White. That would probably balance it out better. Also that scarf is just so bulky that it takes up the entire chest portion of the avi. 7.8/10

Why you'd make a good judge: Well I've judged before and I thought that I did a good job, I tended to look at different stuff then the other judges did. I have different opinion on what a good Avi should look like, I like it better when I can tell themes out of outfits. I like to think that I can give a different perspective to judging

This is a very cute avatar. I like how you incorporated the light blues, yellows, and teals, which is a color scheme my mind has never even thought of trying. Also, I always say "be creative, and don't make something you would wear in real life" and this is proving that statement wrong. If I was a female, I'd wear that out in public any day of the week, and it's still SO creative! I am VERY impressed, but the only thing that I would like to see is some more silver to make the anklets feel more in place. 9.8/10
why you'd make a good judge: I can be very honest, and I don't tear anyone down, however I don't sugarcoat the truth. I have an artistic eye, so I know a good avatar when i see one. I also give constructive criticism.

Thanks for considering me.

This avatar makes good use of color-coordination, but needs a bit of improvement. The scarf isn't quite the same hue as the rest of the outfit, and it blocks the view of the top. The blue goes well with an overall wintery look, but it looks as if she's wearing puffy shorts under a dress or skirt, which I could never imagine actually wearing. The yellow accents, however, are perfectly implemented. The yellow "pops" lead the eye down the avatar, so the audience gets a feel for the whole outfit without having to do much work. The cool colored clothing contrasts well against her warm-toned skin, but her grey eyes are a little lost to everything else going on. I'd like to see what it's like with yellow or teal eyes.

Overall, I give a 7/10. Good overall concept, but needs improvement in a few areas. This is a practical outfit, good for a department store catalog, but probably not something you'd see on a real runway.

why you'd make a good judge: I can be honest, constructive, and (if need be) brutal. I'm not biased by colors, and I've been through enough art classes that I know how to coordinate. I've also been to a few fashion seminars, so I know how to relate textures, patterns, and solids. I can also alter my judging style based on whether or not the outfit is supposed to be practical (something someone would wear day-to-day) or high fashion (a "wear this once" type of seasonal outfit for a special occasion).

Thank you for considering my application!

Judging sample: This avatar surprised me since it doesn't look very "Seiki" to me. Instead, I get the impression that you're exploring a new style using item combinations with less focus on color balance and matching. It's commendable to try new things and I do like that you've tried an unorthodox color combination, but it looks like you haven't quite found a good marriage between this new style and your typical design aesthetic.

The overall look strikes me as very unpolished. The large chunk of red on the kilt draws too much focus and there's simply too much red with the addition of the floating sparkles. I've never been fond of adding dual tiaras (or I guess triple in this case) as it would look ridiculous IRL and the fairy tiara especially feels out of place. I don't mind that the colors are of different shades, but the color distribution really doesn't mesh or flow well and the avatar suffers for it. I can't see the look you were trying to achieve, so I'm afraid this avatar really misses the mark for me. 5.5/10

Why you'd make a good judge: First of all, I suppose it helps that I'm familiar with Project Mene and the AC in general. I'm capable of assessing what does and doesn't work within an avatar according to my own preferences, but I try not to disregard avatars that follow a different design aesthetic. I can submit my scores within a timely manner and I strive to be impartial in my decisions. I generally I try to include both positive and negative aspects in my feedback and hopefully all of it is received as constructive. :)

I've got to be honest, this avatar is not appealing for me overall. While I appreciate the creativity and exploration of the different item combinations you tried, all of it together didn't work for me. =\ I feel that if you only chose specific combinations to use, it could have created a cleaner look.

I think that if you were to edit your avatar (edit in Project Runway linggo, because I'm addicted to the show right now xDD), it could be more interesting. :> For example, you could have removed both the light purple and darker purple, instead perhaps trying to get more red? I really love the turquoise color you used though, since the boldness of the color against the gold skin strikes me as very interesting. :3

Overall... I'm going to have to give this a 5.5/10, I guess. xDD;; For some reason it's not a full 6 just yet. =\ But like I said, a little more editing and I could give a higher score. :>

why you'd make a good judge: I think I would make a good judge because as part of a "middle generation" of regular AC-ers, I got to see (and continue to see) the former styles to the newer styles now. I'm not a 100%-matchy type of person, but I am more critical when it comes to overall appeal.

Also, as a former finalist of Project Mene, I am familiar with how the contest works and what is needed for it. =) I am confident that I will submit scores on time. And, being one who has learned a lot from Project Mene, I wish to do the same for future contestants what Project Mene did for me. ^^ <3<3
