A poem that I really enjoyed reading and that has 2 versions [yumeh1]
A Divine Image (from songs of innocence)
To Mercy Pity Peace and Love,
All pray in their distress:
And to these virtues of delight
Return their thankfulness.
For Mercy Pity Peace and Love,
Is God our father dear:
And Mercy Pity Peace and Love,
Is Man his child and care.
For Mercy has a human heart
Pity, a human face:
And Love, the human form divine,
And Peace, the human dress.
Then every man of every clime,
That prays in his distress,
Prays to the human form divine
Love Mercy Pity Peace.
And all must love the human form,
In heathen, turk or jew.
Where Mercy, Love & Pity dwell,
There God is dwelling too.
The second version
A divine Image (the songs of experience)
Cruelty has a human heart,
And Jealousy a human face;
Terror the human form divine,
And Secrecy the human dress.
The human dress is forged iron,
The human form a fiery forge,
The human face a furnace sealed,
The human heart its hungry gorge.
Here's this poem's tribute in an instrumental version

Long, long ago (last night), Insomniac announced a new tagging system for Menewsha. In doing to, he tagged everybody on line. Being tagged by the great leader of Menewsha had many quaking in their shoes. But one Cookie remained fearless, indignant even!
I'm kind of wrongly amused by everyone thinking they were in trouble. Personally, I was thinking "What is that evil overlord Insomniac: saying about me?! *storms over*" Ok, maybe it wasn't quite like that, but similar
In retaliation for this brash poking, Insomniac summoned the Cookie to a far corner of the kingdom.
*pokes For-Chan Cookie: into a thread of no relevance* :P
Amused, but set on revenge, the Cookie retreated into the oft forgotten Poetry Forum. And there the battle of wits truly began. Dare you follow their awesome adventure of wits and words?

(grammatical errors all around...)
I bid you a transient welcoming,
in that my words don't penetrate your brain,
it is as I expected, my dear princess...
You don't respond to my beckoning;
I kiss you with my words, but the gaze you give is insane,
as if I've done something wrong, but oh, I digress.
I don't wish to be your suitor...
Oh, there is no chemistry here.
It isn't your fault, hon;
I simply like intelligence,
and such a thing is so hard to find.
Oh, my mother, I want to shoot her.
And you, you're far too close now, oh, don't come so near.
No, I don't mean to shun,
but how dense you are, in all your adolescence,
that's not my kind...
No, you're not my kind...
No woman is my kind...
...Again, I digress...
In that shadowy alcove you call a mind,
I have tried so hard to find
any resemblance, any humanity,
but you've left me with none.
I'll tear away now,
it'll spill forth now
everything I've done...
It was for you to believe me,
to maybe see me,
but that too was a lie...
Ah... I digress.
To embrace you is to embrace the arctic,
you're just as chilling, just as cold.
There's no comfort in it, and you, my princess...
I'd rather you be gone...
Our love is painfully cathartic,
only a fool would be sold,
by beauty alone, but...I digress...
Too long have you eclipsed the sun,
in all your dreary, overbearing speech,
and too long have I bent down to kiss your feet.
You lower me to an animalistic, babbling mess,
but oh, my princess, I digress,
oh, I digress...

:PHi there! Thanks for stopping by! Just wanted to let everyone who feels the need to actually read this, that well, since threads have been merged and i'm still learning...obviously all my poetry shall b posted here. This read from left to right in alternate lines(i.e. line 1 on the left, line 2 on right, line 3 on left again, etc.). I know it seems difficult, but it mirrors the movements of marrionettes...sorta? Please don't let the format keep you from reading.=3 Well...read on then.
"puppet on a string"
be the dark side of the moon
be what society hates
be you but . . .
i am but a puppet
a puppet on a string
a string pulled by
the brutal hands of
a prejudiced people
i will dance to my own flame
as long as others dance with me
i will stand for what i believe
as long as that's okay with everyone else
i will be me
as long as i am all the others that stand beside me but...
to be true to myself would mean disaster
will i crumble under paper beauty?
will i melt under the match of many?
will i break under the expectation that keeps me tied?
will i or won't i or can i . . . but . . .
i will be my own within me
for that is all the marionette allows
my movements will sustain me
tho these strings hold me down
my life will be my dream of hope
that someday only none among the crowd will cheer
for they too will see the poor structure of society
only then will i break this twine and join
join my bretheren of the persecuted . . . but . . .
~END~
 thanks for reading! this poem kinda reads as a two in one. you read left to right, alternate lines for the whole poem. you can also read each column as individual poems...or so i've been told. apparently i have a kind of oblivious nack for these wacky things? anyway, please let me know what you think!
