True -- AOTFG, Fishing, Spazewalk, and Sardine Smash are almost all newer than I am, I think. AOTFG was already around, I think, when I joined about a year ago...

Ouch. This... is really going to hinder my quest. And I am so close, too! *Sets the timetable back by a few weeks.* I like to think I balance out my chatting and my gaming pretty well (Tetris never takes that long), but... well, we'll see, I guess.

I'm alright with the reduction. I get more gold in a night of roleplaying than I would playing games, anyways, so it doesn't bother me.

I am too lazy to ever earn the 500g anyway. :o

eh i dont like the idea so much cause i have no way 2 buy collectibles...n trust me ive tried n im not always on 2 post alot. games are fast and easy way for me 2 earn gold fast. i liked it better at 500

This works fine for me as i hardly ever play any games. XD I have noticed the forums aren't as active lately too though, so i believe it will be a good thing.

Yeah, it takes a lot to get 500 gold a day anyways, plus if you have a mule you can still get your 500 gold so it's not a big deal to me.

Personally, I don't mind. If I was a newbie, I might find it a drag, but for the over all health of the community, it's a good thing (god, I just sounded like Martha Stewart...) I think I'm a part of the drop in post (not a huge part, I'm no where near narcissistic enough to think that), but I've been taken with a bit of wanderlust lately, and haven't been in front of the computer as much. I hope all the ones who feel shafted by the change don't hate us slackers.

I don't mind the decrease in gold for games, but would it be possible to increase the gold earned per character? The reason people were playing the games is because of how fast you could make money. Most people who are skilled at one or more of the games could make their 500g in an hour. That's 8.3 gold a minute. As some people have mentioned, the amount of typing in posts one has to do in a day to make that same amount is a very crazy amount. I know that the admins are trying to stem back inflation, but by scaling back the money earned by games, new people are going to have even more trouble getting the items they want.

i think this is a bad idea. there should be more elements to a site then just..chatting. imo. not everyone likes being pushed to chat. so i think that the same people will be chatting. a few more will chat here and there, but not much of an impact will happen.

I think this move is going to hurt the site in the long run. Gold is extremely hard to earn on mene as it is, and for those of us that have massive quests going, a lower limit like this is very discouraging. I chat all the time anyway and I try to earn my max gold as well (though I haven't had time for that recently). Mene is a great site with a lot of snazzy stuff to do. I know a lot of people that got put off when they first joined because of the strict rules and gold earning limits we already had. Limiting it further seems likely to put off more new users and upset older ones.

I know I can't keep up with my cosplay addiction on chatting alone. I only make a couple hundred a day chatting because my RPs are all pretty slow and I don't have a lot of free time. I tend to chat most days and only play games to my max when I really need the gold fast or I have a large chunk of time to kill. People who want to chat will, people who don't feel like chatting....well, this new limit will just mean they are on the site even less and some of them may give up completely. You shouldn't try to force us into chatting, it isn't every person's cup of tea. Give us back our 500 :gold: limit please!

I like this idea, cause as much as I prefer maxing out games to earn gold.. I would love some more motivation to chat.. even though I don't think I'll be chatting much soon as I'll be starting college soon. X3
