Let me find the web address, it only took 5-10 min to install. The site is in Japanese, but there's a button near the top right of the site to translate to English.
Edit: Here it is, and it let me copy the English one. ^^ http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/index.html They have two versions, a free one and a shareware, I just downloaded the free one. |
Oh, great. Thanks for the link. C:

No problem at all, happy to help. :)

For those still wanting a vday hangout thread- hummy, ObviouslyAya, Vickyll3, Nuruhanj, Vixen with a Vendetta, and I have decided that we are still going to run our VDAY Random Acts of Kindess thread either during the recruitment drive or around Valentine's Day. It'll have an art contest, avi contest, games, and page prizes! Look out for us :) We have a planning thread in the Community Discussion called "V-day planning thread" posted by hummy! We'll post updates there :D
|
I said in the first post that we'll have a subforum :ninja:
|
call me a purist, but it's still good ol' MS Paint for me

That looks pretty now, I like the puffy top part. Overall it lacks a bit of definition, especially the light pink, but I don't know what to suggest to improve on that :( It might just be too much if the lighter shades of the palette, or not enough contrast between the shades themselves. This is where my lack of ability kicks me up the bum :/
|
 Thanks for point that out, Jells. Seeing it zoomed all the way out, my drunk gracefulness has worn off, and I can see that it's looking ALOT flat.
Perhaps, if the lighter pink was a little darker, the tiny details I put in there will be a little more noticeable? I think my problem is that I don't know if I'm coloring in a corset or a blouse. I'd make the lighter color; if it were a bustier, more vibrant and shiny, and put the details more out-there--whereas, with a blouse, I'd just make the light pink a little darker and put more definition in the shirt. I'm going to have to look at more tops and whatnot, around here--but; It's almost 3AM; (YIKES!) so, I'll try to fix it in the morning. ^_^ |
Having looked at in potatoshop, do you tool shade, Apricot? I was going to recolour the top in two of our palettes to see how different it looked, then found there's a load too many shades :ninja:
|
Busybody me, also look at Apricot's shading for the pink top.
If I am not mistaken, it is soft shading style? |
I don't know >< All I know is regular pixels  Mene items have to be pixelled using a 5 or 6 shade palette, so they can be recoloured :ninja:
|
NOW I know how many shade palette you actually wanted. XD
On the other hand, when dealing with recolour, I have tried using the layer mode thingy. So I basically have a grayscale map, and fill a base colour underneath and overlay on top with the map. Or another way is to use Hue and Saturation... |
Sounds complicated >< I've fiddled with hue and saturation before, but because I don't really know what I'm doing, I went back to using existing palettes :ninja:
|
the shirt is really pretty, even in ebil pink! |
@Jelly
I don't really know what 'tool shading' is--the internet isn't being realiable and won't tell me! :gonk:--but, I do agree that there are too many shades in use. Instead of fixing it, though, I fooled around with it in Paint.net, and all I did was make it shinier. http://www.menewsha.com/forum/pictur...ictureid=52023  I cannot tell a lie; I'm relying too heavily on what I like to do, when I'm, instead of what Mene has going on. I am studying the blouses around here, though, so it's not like I'm not doing my homework! I can totally recolor the shirt, if need-be, with the other colors you have. ^_^ @Hummy Pink's not ebil! 8D PINK IS PURRRRTY! |
Yeah, I spend a lot of time looking at Wishie's pixels :ninja:

You need to start with the basics, You can't use the fancier tools and all that properly if you don't know the basics. Download MS Paint XP, read Kawaii's tut's, and start with something simple =3. Remember, things with pixeling have a much higher contrast than drawn things, you need to have large splotches of dark and light areas, and well-defined folds Recoloring with hue/saturation usually sucks =\ You need to go hand pick out the next pallete, and replace the colors by hand. There are couple tricks that make recoloring literally take one minute, i think Kawaii mentions them. |
Yeah, it takes me about 10 seconds to recolour something :ninja:
eye dropper, wand and bucket FTW! |
haha, I use MS Paint, left click existing color, right click color I want, Wave around the eraser holding right click, and then on to the next color.
Honestly what takes the longest for me is picking the pallete XD |
I really like your latest re-colour of the top, Apricot.
|
I think that top is looking pretty good, Apricot! :)
Perhaps with some practice you would make some nice pixels. :D |
Thank you, ladies. I'm recoloring the recolored version, since I'm fidgeting and whatnot. *Acts overbearing, and breathes all over you two* Wanna see it? :insane:
|
Awesome! :) Sure!
I'm excited to see the current revision. |

:) I've only been working on the bottom part of the shirt, since it's been ticking me off the most. What do you think? |
