Tracking PMs?
 

Is that the 'Request a read receipt for this message' option?
If it is, is there a way to do it by default, or would we have to check the box each time?

There doesn't seem to be an option for it in the user control panel, edit options under the private message settings. So my guess is that you have to manually click that option each time you send a new message.

You can have your PMs saved in your sent folder, and I believe it lets you know if they've been read as well. Though I'm not sure. When I would check on the Assassin account it seemed to do that, but I might've just been tired.

The read receipt's a waste of time anyway, if the person at the other end refuses it, you're none the wiser as to whether they're read your PM or not : /

Yeah. All it does is show you the list of messages that you've sent with a receipt on it that people confirmed they received. If they hit the 'x' on the little pop-up or they hit 'no' or whatever you'll never know if it was read or not, and it won't show up on the list.
