W-...Whats the point of...
So what's the point of quick reply. It doesn't give you gold, it's very watered down compared to regular posts. Is there some hidden meaning to them I just don't see?

I use them all the time unless it's a long reply and know it does because I get the gold for them. |

You can use the same coding that you use in regular posts, it just isn't laid out for you with the little boxes. I'm pretty sure that the point to it is in the name--Quick reply; you don't have to load a new page to get to the reply box. Edit: Kale beat me. :oops: |
You do indeed get gold from quick reply. I use it nearly 100% of the time and I know that my gold count does grow. It's just a short cut there for those who don't need any heavy text editing.

It just saves you having to click the reply button to open up a seperate reply box, that's all. I rarely ever use the "proper" reply method, unless I'm posting something long/official that needs previewing for any reason.

..and even in that case I usually type it out in quick reply before previewing it. :p

It should give you gold, this isn't the first time someone has had problems with it though. If I remember correctly someone else wasn't getting gold from Quick Reply either when the new software had just came out xD;

I think it's more that people don't realize that you don't see the gold change immediately on the top screen. >_>;
I suppose it's possible that people legitimately aren't earning gold, but you'd think it'd happen to more than one or two people every few months... o.o |

Check under my avatar (or the avatar of whoever the last post on the page is). There's a button that looks like this:
http://images.menewsha.com/forum/buttons/reply.gif You can click on that to do the same thing as "Go Advanced" does under the Quick Reply box. :3 |
O0h i never knew that :o now i get what your saying.. the quick reply i thought was just like it said " quick " but the "post reply" would be able to make edits with font, other emotes and the such.. |
