How do I change my username?

If you would like to change your username you can do, but there is a fee. The first change will cost you 1000 gold, with any subsequent changes, the fee will rise by a further 500.

If you've made a simple spelling error, or wish to remove excess punctuation, spaces, underscores, etc, but not actually change the name itself, there is no charge.

You can send a PM to either myself, Jurupamae , Yanyan13 , Chi or CK and we will perform this task for you.

A couple of things to remember:

• If you do change your user name, another user can then take on the name you had previously. So make sure that you are sure you want to give up your current name, as you might not be able to get it back if you decide you don't like your new name.
• If you want to check on the availability of a different name, here's what to do.
  1. Go to your profile(either by clicking the link below one of your posts, or on your name up in the top right-hand corner where it says welcome.
  2. Take a look at the URL in the address bar, it will say http://www.menewsha.com/forum/members/24237.html(that's my user ID)
  3. Change the end of the address, so that instead of saying /members/24237.html, it says /member.php?username= Then type in the name you want to try.
  4. If it hasn't been taken a message will come up saying Quote:
     This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view.
     So you'll know that name is free. If it is taken you'll know, because it will take you to that person's profile.
  5. If you find the name you want has already been taken, but the account is inactive. Please don't ask if you can have the name and for the other account to be de-activated/deleted or anything similar because it's never been used. This is unethical and we'd never submit to such a request
