Hmm well, I was wondering if there is a board, like gaia, that you can post chats to make friends or chat with your friends. If so, can you please point me to it. Is asking for friends considered spam because I don't see people saying 'welcome to mene, feel free to add me' like gaia does.

If you would like to introduce yourself, the best place to do that is in Fresh Meat forum. Great for newbies to say hello and what not.

There's also the Menewsha Nation which was designed for the sole purpose of chatting with and getting to know others.

And asking for friend requests in other user's profiles and in forums that allow chatting shouldn't be a problem.
