Its been a while since I last visited. However, I do remember a rule in some of the forums about a one-topic-per-person limit. (Such as the exchange...)

Is this rule still in action, and if so, does it apply to other forums/sub-forums or only that one? I know ones like the general discussion or this one wouldn't be like that, where its almost encouraged to have more than one topic if nessacary. But I thought I'd inquire about others.

For example, I have a dead thread from 08 in the one x one role playing forum. Should I be reviving it, or may I start a new one if that so tickles my fancy?
(I realize theres no 'thread necroing' but I assume this is a little different if I'm planning to re-use my own thread.)

I hadn't seen anything in any of the stickies for the forum or rules pertaining to exactly this, hence my asking. :sweat:

It differs by forum. You'd have to read the stickies in that particular forum. For the exchange, you only get one exchange thread ever. But for other places you can have as many as you want. For Role plays, you definitely aren't limited to only one RP ever. That would hardly be fair. You can RP with as many people in as many threads as you have imagination for. :D

It does differ by forum, GD obviously you're allowed more than one thread per topic you create and MN you're also allowed more than one hangout thread so long as the themes are different.

In one on one requests, as you had given example of it's a situation where, if your thread hasn't been active over a year like you said yours hasn't then you are allowed to create another. If your thread is still active you can not - though you may PM a moderator to request that it be locked so you can make a new more organized one so that there isn't daunting pages of people saying they will and the chatter within since it can sometimes make people think they're no longer looking because they have such a large thread. Though a new thread for each type of RP you want is getting too much.

I'm no longer on staff now, but that's how I'd set things up anyhow. If it's changed some, it couldn't have changed much.. RP section was my area of forte.

If you're speaking of the One on One Private Roleplays, you should keep to the original RP thread.. but you are allowed as many threads per roleplay as you want - even with the same user, to keep organized. If you want to start the RP over there wouldn't be a problem remaking the thread instead of trying to work with the year old thread.
