Hello.
So I had a question...
I recently double posted in one of my threads after my last post (which was a day+ past already) and thought that I was following the rules stated here:

Quote:
Needless double posting: eg: Making multiple posts one after the other when there are no other users present within a thread, is considered a form of spam. It is preferred if you edit your previous post rather than adding a new one. However, It IS ok for you to revive your thread with an on topic post if a number of hours (at least 5) have passed.
Now, confused about a moderator editing my previous post and deleting the double post, I decided to PM the moderator asking politely for a simple explanation as to what I had done wrong exactly considering that I had thought I did nothing wrong, considering the rule.

But now I find that I've had yet a second deduction from my gold after said PM was already read without a reply to my question, I am even further confused.

So if any moderator or authoritative figure could kindly tell me why what's been done has been done so I may continue on my merry way and avoid more gold deductions?
Thank you for your time!

Hmm. Yeah, if it is a day past you are good. If it is 5 hours past the post you can revive your thread, or once it falls off the first page you can double post as well. Those are the only exceptions to double posting. Though, I would PM the moderator who sent it to you and plead your case to them. Since the rest of the staff will just tell you to do that, since they are not the ones who handled your case.

The staff will gladly talk to you about why they did what they did. From time to time people do make mistakes like not noticing that time has passed appropriately (to err is human, after all). If they haven't responded to your PM'd inquiry yet, they may have had a time crunch and been unable to respond.

If you feel any staff member is behaving inappropriately/unfairly, if discussing it with that particular staff member (privately) isn't an option, you can speak to an Assistant Administrator like myself and we'll look into it.

Thank you for the suggestions. (:
The issue has been resolved now.
